Lifting the mattress to change sheets is literally a pain. This wedge lifter makes perfect sense but in practical use requires practice. I found the little spatula piece to be unnecessary. If I got the edge of the mattress lifted I could fairly easily tuck the sheets in. It would be nice if this came in a two pack - so when you’re making the bed with a partner both sides could be raised at the same time. The product seems a bit cheaply made. The mattress lifter wedge arrived this week and it is amazing. It works!! I have struggled for years to put on the fitted sheets. Well this neat little gizmo just slips in between the mattress and box springs and holds it up so that you can use 2 hands to tackle the sheets. The plastic that it is made from is too slippery. It slides out when you wedge it in. The smaller one is too short to tuck in the sheets.

    • It Does Help Lift the Mattress

I've seen mattress lifters similar to this advertised and wondered if they really work. This lifter comes in two pieces, a wedge to help left the mattress and a spatula to push the sheet under the mattress and smooth it down. The wedge does help lift the corner of the mattress just enough to get the sheet underneath. You have to keep pushing in the wedge as you work your way from the bottom corner, across the bottom, and the working your way a few inches toward the head of the bed. If you have any kind of back, neck or arm injury where you are told not to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk, this wedge will help make the bed. The flat spatula, however, was kind of useless. Once the wedge is holding up a portion of the mattress, it was much easier to smooth the sheet with my hand. The spatula kept getting "locked" into place by the folds of the sheet. It was faster and easier by hand. The wedge is recommended. Maybe you can find another use for the spatula (which I don't know if it is food safe). ... show more

I thought this was a clever idea, and I still do. However the wedge doesn't work very well with a heavy mattress like my tempurpedic mattress. It will slide under just fine, but if I try and lever it up I start hearing creaking and cracking. This might work really well with boxed springs, but it is too light for heavier. The "blade" for tucking under sheets is a clever idea and it works reasonably well, as long as the sheet isn't too long on that side. ... show more

Thanks to this little lifter wedge, I no longer dread changing sheets. I have a memory foam mattress, and it can be rather heavy to lift, making sheet changes a real workout. This tool easily lifts the mattress and keeps it lifted so I have free hands to much more easily put on the fitted sheet at the corners and then smooth down the sides. I still have to contend with top and bottom of the sheet since I have a headboard and footboard, but the initial hard part is done at that point. The flat sheet easily follows. This plastic mattress lifter feels ok for an average weight for a standard bed. While it doesn't seem extremely sturdy, it's easy to use: simply slide it under the mattress and use the included spatula to tuck in the bed sheet. It's particularly useful for individuals with back pain. The lifter has a grippy handle for easy maneuvering under the bed. However, the spatula feels a bit small; a larger size would have been more beneficial.
