When I first opened this chalk, I thought it might be a fake. Some cubes not uniform, some cue tip dimples were off center, and there were chips in a few pieces (see pic). However, the box seems legit and I looked in my old Silver Cup chalk box and some pics online and saw some of the same irregularities. The Silver Cup chalk did have much more regular shaped cubes, though. So, I guess this stuff is Master chalk, but I would have expected more uniformity. OK, all that's not a big deal, so I tested the chalk on a freshly nickle shaped/bare tip on a good cue, new cloth, and new Aramith Tournament balls. The chalk performed as it should. In the end this is good stuff, albeit not that pretty out of the box. Speaking of pretty, I noted from the reviews that alot of people had trouble with the color they ordered. I ordered gold and got it, and it matches my new Simonis camel cloth perfectly. ... show more

I have been using Master chalk for over 50 years. It works. My home parlor switched to Gold felt, so I had to get the gold colored chalk. I don't see or feel any playing difference between the blue and gold color chalks.

I had the predator 1080 but everyone was starting to use it and mine was starting to go missing once I bought this haven’t had that happen again cause I’m the only one around with it

We had a few of the chalks that came with the table, and they were worn out, so I ordered these. I did not notice until they got here that the old ones were not a good color match to the felt. The new ones are almost perfect. Much better quality chalk as well. There is noticeably more grab when applying English. It also comes off of the block, and sticks to the tip better. I have never had a complaint about Masters chalks before, and I won't start now. ... show more

It is master chalk. Anyone who plays pool seriously already knows the quality and value. For people just looking for chalk for recreational play this is also the best choice. I have used about every brand and nothing beats master
