Love this light. Two plants, 11oz produced in a 2x4 tent. It does produce heat. I put the power and controls outside the tent and that helped alot. Highly recommend this light. I ran at 75 percent in flower.

I'm a big ac Infinity fan and love their products. Their lights are not it though, and neither are spider farmer. I have one light from all 3 companies now, and mars hydro is years ahead. The price to performance is so good for the FC1500. It has good light distribution and very low heat for the amount of light. Solid build. I wish more manufactures used this layout for small lights. ... show more

For those who look at those lighting charts as a buying factor, keep in mind they are done in a mylar box to ensure light reflection. My photo was done 11in. off my kitchen floor. I was still pulling 1184 PPFD. Installed in my 4 x 4 tent, and at 12in. above my canopy, I have it dialed in at 1050 PPFD while only using 90% of the power. For those you use light meters to set up your grow room, you will appreciate knowing this. This light runs cooler than my previous lights, so kudos to that factor. The mobile app. to adjust lighting is a great way to dial in your grow space while keeping it enclosed and without light leakage. I upgraded from the Mars Hydro SP3000 and this brand continues to deliver on value, features and performance. ... show more

I mean what can I say? This is exactly what I was looking for. This is more than enough for a 3x3 tent. It's actually a little more than most need. I have to keep mine 24 in or above.(Veg) When on 100%. But that's exactly why I bought this light because I wanted better coverage around the perimeter and this is definitely going to provide it. I can tell already after 3 days. This is definitely a commercial grade light. At least to me at a steel of a price. It came highly recommended and I highly recommend it. So update only a few weeks to harvest, this lights great, I am adding 1200-1300ppm c02 in a 3x3 AC Infinity tent, so I am running it @ about 16in @ 100% and it's measuring 72,000-73,000 lux at the very top bud site. If your looking into growing, and you're trying to do it right once like I was. Don't waste your time, just buy this light. Even if for some reason you can't afford it at the moment, wait until you can. Because the performance the price is great. Haven't had any issues and if I do I'll be sure to update. But I am extremely happy with the purchase. I mean let's call it what it is. It's a commercial grow light and it performs like one. ... show more

I purchased TWO of these lights for close to 500 dollars. Would be nice if they work as intended. Read reddit and online to see this issue isn't isolated. It's bs, as I could've bought a better light, but I had confidence in an item and was screwed. No, I do not want to spend the next two weeks shipping and receiving something that should work out of the box. Now I have to invest in a dimmer, smdh. Save your money, add a few dollars, go with spider farmer or medic grow 800. Still cheaper and less headache than this. Dissatisfied. ... show more

    • Excellent light for young plants

Here I review the 2024 Mars Hydro FC-1500 EVO grow light. In sum, it is a nice light for raising young plants in a small space, and I give it 4.6 stars. I started a new 2.5X2.5 ft. space for raising early phase plants. I looked at a Kind LED grow light but didn't like how I could not separate UV from IR. HLG makes good lights, but the HLG quantum board in question lacks UV and is difficult for attaching supplemental lighting. Only the FC-1500 gave me the potential spectrum flexibility that I wanted in a bar light design, which makes attaching supplemental lighting easier. I was not unhappy to look into a Mars Hydro model. I own an older model Mars Hydro FC-3000, and it has surpassed my expectations for several years. In my experience, AC Infinity makes good tents, fans, and controllers; Vivosun makes the best hangars; but for lighting, you have to take Mars Hydro seriously. The FC-1500 works well for my purposes. It nicely lays down 620 PPFD of balanced PAR light, which over 18 hours results in a DLI of 40. It is also good for germination and seedlings at lower intensities. While it lacks native UV, I can easily attach an outboard UV bar to its frame. And I can buy the Mars Hydro light together with supplemental UV for less than other lights. For those interested, this light works like a champ with the sunrise/sunset function of AC Infinity controllers. The biggest shortcoming of this light would be its 150w relatively low power. I would not use this light for flowering because it is not intense enough. I do not care about that last part, though, for I use it only with young plants in a small space.
