Loved the look and style of these boots. I received them on a Sunday and put them on and walked around the house for 10 min or so to get the feel for them, I didn’t notice any discomfort but did realize I needed more room so I took the gray insert out. I was a bit skeptical of the adjustable width system they advertise but gave it a shot. Turns out it did make the boot feel more roomy and made it feel wider. The next day at work (I work in a metal shop on a press brake) the boots seemed okay and no real issues besides them feeling a little stiff. As the day went on a started to notice the front part of my ankle bothering me just like something was pushing against it, I thought maybe it was the stiffness of the boot but near the end of the day my front ankle area was really hurting, I couldn’t wait to get home and take these boots off. I took them off and saw my front ankle on both feet were red and somewhat swollen, I can’t tell you what was causing this but these boots became the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn working these last 18 years in a metal shop. I’m all for comfortable boots as I’m on my feet all day long ( Airline industry Mechanic ) quality is good but they are super super bulky and heavy. I didn’t even wear them outside the house. I own a pair of Irish Setter Marshall and for summer Arita Spitfire. I wanted to like them but I’m not carrying bricks on my feet. Comfortable yes but that’s it. ... show more

I've tried nearly every boot brand in the last 16 years and for some reason my feet ache with most. These boots have a more natural flat surface with a good width on them. Now here is my crazy theory. I have high arches, and they do NOT need support. Im pretty athletic and my feet and tendons can support themselves, they do not need anything other than a comfortable flat surface. I work 80+ hour work weeks in the refining business and my feet have never felt better. The only downside is the ankle is very stiff and I can see how it would bother people. I however wrap the laces around the back of the boot and do not tie up the ankle and they feel great. These were recommended by my flatfooted friend with planter flachitisis or whatever he said... 33 yrs I’ve been a Red Wing guy. Cost of RW are out the roof now. Several guys at work have the Brunt’s and have nothing but praises to say along with they said the shoes are true size. I ordered the 6” boot and the tongue didn’t go above the top of the shoe resulting in the shoe laces to ride over the top of the shoe and cut into my legs. They were also about 1/2 size too large for me. The top of the shoe was very stiff and actually bruised my ankles. What I didn’t know was everyone has the 8” boots at work. Reordered this shoe in 8” height and 1/2 size smaller. Look for a later review on the taller shoe. Why did I reorder? Despite the said issues, for the first time in a very long time my knees didn’t hurt at the end of a 12 hr day the 2 days I wore them. ... show more

Over all it was a good price. Booty quality is high up there, water proof and very well protected. Took a whole month of breaking in before they were comfortable. I know they heavily sell the boots on there insoles. Not the best insoles in my opinion and my feet have never been picky. Not a bad boot and I'll wear them until they fall apart, probably going back to the brand I wore before though. ... show more
