This is pretty much the rolex of tool/field watches. The technical specs are amazing, the tridium lume is an amazing feature and the watch wears well and is super comfortable. I bought this in honor of R. Lee Ermey, he listed this watch as part of his Everyday Carry. It looks cool. I love the radioactive lume. They are like little tubes affixed to all the parts of the dial and they contain this radioactive gas. It makes the dial look cool. It kept way better time than my seiko divers (which would gain 10 seconds / day). The chocolate smelling band was weird, but i got used to it. It was very comfortable. The bevel rotates with authority and reminds you that this is a tool watch. I like that the lume a green and a red lume for the 12 oclock position. ... show more

This is the largest of the automatic versions. It wears smaller than you'd think. The actual dial is small for the overall size of the watch. Watch looks and runs great.     • Both dials are loose inside of a year. Can marathon watch Company help?
I’m loved the watch at first. Stout and tough. I was a little disappointed with the fact that the back casing was a little crooked but didn’t think it was a big deal. Now, inside of a year, (9 months) the dials are both loose and moving all over. Hoping The Marathon watch Company can help with this.

    • Quality tritium watch
The media could not be loaded. My first experience with tritium watches was a Luminox I purchased years ago and from the day I was hooked and knew tritium was the way to go for me. What drove me crazy about the Luminox was that it was a quartz watch that kind of felt cheap (i.e. second hand did not line up with the minute markers, etc.). So I started looking for a nicer tritium watch that also had an automatic movement yet was still rugged enough for me to wear not only to the office but also after hours and on the weekends. What appealed to me about the Marathon GSAR was that it was automatic, Swiss made, had sapphire crystal, and was not over sized like so many diver style automatic watches these days. After having this watch for sometime now, I am extremely happy with my purchase. The watch is very comfortable on the wrist and the rubber strap is really nice, thick and soft. The watch is built like a tank, nice and heavy without being too big. It looks good on the wrist and is very versatile in appearance, I can wear it to the office just as easy as I can after hours. It is my every day wearer. The tritium tubes are comparable to the Luminox I had before, subtle but easily visible in the dark. I am a hunter, and there is nothing better than being able to glance at your wrist in the middle of the night and see the time without having to push any buttons.
