  • Pretty Happy
Style: Cinema 70S
Have had it about a month now and I can honestly say this is the best piece of audio gear I have ever owned. Setup was a breeze and its sound is fantastic. You can't find a feature set this unit has at this price point or at least I couldn't. I bought this because it has pre-out's thinking I was gonna use them but haven't. It sounds way better than the pre-amp / amp combo it replaced. Plus it did away with all that cabling. My setup is a simple 5.1 and it's likely that's all it will ever be given the room that it's in. Haven't hooked up the antenna's because bluetooth and wifi are not needed. Nor is the app or a HEOS login so I can't say anything about those.. I did use an ethernet cable to check for firmware updates and the unit reported that the firmware was up to date. To sum it up, all sources sound really good. Bluray's, the computer, the Apple TV, the Tuner, have never sounded better. Turn this unit on and it disappears. I'm pretty happy. ... show more

  • A phenomenal receiver for Dolby Atmos, plenty of power
Style: Cinema 70S
This is the new "brain" of my Klipsch home theater system and wow does it perform! I'm upgrading from a ~10 year old Denon receiver and even my friends and family who aren't self-described audiophiles were amazed at the wraparound audio. Definitely take the time to set up the microphone (included) and calibration process. Setup: 2x Klipsch RP 600M II (L&R) 1x Klipsch RP 500C II (Center) 2x Klipsch RP 500SA II (L&R Ceiling Bounce) 2x Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Heritage (RL, RR) The ProMedia speakers are definitely the weakest point of the system given that they are intended to be used as computer speakers, but the side channels are absolutely worth it. Eventually I plan to add two subwoofers (which the Marantz Cinema 70S supports) to complete the system. ... show more

  • Why did I wait?
Style: Cinema 60
This thing is amazing. Replaced a 18 year old HK AVR 635 so I was expecting better but this exceeded my expectations by far.

  • Great receiver. Network control needs work
Style: Cinema 70S
Sound is phenomenal and so is video quality. Setup is easy and controls are plentiful. Only downside (reason for the 4 stars) is the network control. The app often stops controlling the unit for some functions and misreports its status. Easily remedied with the supplied remote but… Even comes with wire labels and a cardboard “tripod” for the setup mic. And the price was excellent. ... show more

  • My new sound system - wow!!!!
Style: Cinema 60
Had an older cheaper receiver and with my new 77 inch LG 4k purchase, it was time to upgrade. Easy setup and after a sound calibraiton that the system walks you through, my 5.2 theater sound is out of this world.

  • Buggie HDMI firmware mar an otherwize good AVR
Style: Cinema 60
I wanted the Cinema 60 to take advantage of the latest HDMI 2.1 features and bandwidth. But I'd avoid this AVR. When I switch inputs between my Blu-Ray player and Roku, often the screen turns black or a wired color. You can usually fix the problem by turn the power off and on again (rebooting), so keep that remote handy. However, I would recommend the older Marantz AVR's. For example, I'd recommend the SR8013 or SR8015, they're better built and have fewer bugs. BTW, I also have Cinema 50, unfortunately it has the same problems. Newer is not better. ... show more

  • This was a big upgrade for me
Style: Cinema 60
Acquired the Marantz Cinema 60 to upgrade my Home Entertainment Center & to take better advantage of the Klipch Dolby Atmos speakers. I like the sound being more musical than my previous arrangement. Also the menus & set up were easy and refreshing. This was a big upgrade for me so I have a lot to learn. Haven't had the unit long enough to dislike any thing. ... show more

  • Fantastic Sound
Style: Cinema 70S
I have been on the fence about trying out a Marantz receiver for many years now. I started out with an older Onkyo, then upgraded to a Yamaha, then to Denon x1300w which this cinema 70s has replaced. The difference is absolutely night and day. Setup was incredibly simple out of the box. I paired the receiver with an Emotiva BasX 3-channel amplifier for the LCR channels. 160w into 8ohms with even more into 4ohms. My system is comprised of Triangle Genese Trio bookshelf speakers with the Voce center channel, two Klipsch in ceiling speaker for rear surround, and two 15" klipsch r-15sw. Absolutely crystal clear sound. Everything sounds good. Now for the actual use of the receiver, the software and menu navigation is very quick and responsive. Initially there was some screen blacking out when using the sound field changer. That seems to have gone away somehow so no issues now. You can have two presets for your audyssey room correction settings, which (if you're like me and cycle through speakers here and there) is pretty fantastic for plug and play goodness. The size of the receiver maybe shorter than the average AV unit, but it is just as wide. Heat dissipation seems fine due to not as high of a draw in terms of power, which a set of klipsch speakers were basically singing with. All in all, a great AVR for those who prefer simplicity and like their equipment separate in terms of processing and power. ... show more
