  • Best incubator I’ve used so far.
I was so happy with this incubator I ended up purchasing a second one. It just flat out works. My hatch rates are always 90% or above. Don’t let the humidity levels scare you. It’s very easy to fluctuate the humidity. It’s easy to use, and I’ve hatched hundreds of chicks and they’re still running strong. This incubator is so popular that you can also find custom made pieces for it online. For example. The egg turning tray holds 22 regular sized chicken eggs. But I hatch mini eggs. So I was able to Buy a Turner tray that held 36 mini eggs instead of the normal 22. So having access to accessories is always a plus. ... show more

  • Chicks regularly hatching on Day 19!
I just completed my second chick hatch in this incubator. The first time I did a semi-dry hatch where I kept humidity between 25-40% and of the 19 fertile eggs that went into lockdown, I had 100% hatch on day 19, which is 2 days early for chicken eggs. The second hatch I incubated fully dry with zero water added. The humidity naturally hovered around 24-28%. Of the 20 fertile eggs that went into lockdown, I again had 100% hatch of chicken eggs on day 19. This unit is hatching eggs reliably early and all the chicks are healthy! For BOTH hatches we experienced multiple short, quick power outs. The longest was 15 minutes. Each time the incubator came back on, remembered the correct count-down day and continued turning the eggs without any issues. This is impressive since spring & summer thunderstorms tend to occur at the same time of year I want to hatch chicks and some incubators stay off after power outs. This one has proven very reliable! It is very easy to use. Directions are straight-forward and everything is adjustable. The built-in LED candler works perfect if you place a half-sheet of black card stock with a centered, 1/2 inch hole over it to direct a thinner beam of light into the egg. Even my blue eggs are easy to see through this way! (The eggs in the picture have air cells traced which were viewed using the built in candler. I don’t own any other type of candler.) Consider still using an extra thermometer. A second digital thermometer said my unit was running a degree too low so I increased the temp to 100.5 on the unit to achieve 99.5 degrees at egg level. (This might be why I’m regularly experiencing day 19 hatches across all breeds I incubate.) If you want to stop the auto turner before day 18, it is easy to remove the tray and unplug the turner unit’s separate power supply. I stop turning the evening of day 13 to lessen the chance of malpositioned chicks. I also add a piece of rubbery shelf liner under the eggs after I candle on day 18, in preparation for hatching. (Simply trace the egg turner tray you removed onto the shelf liner roll and cut out!) This liner keeps the chicks stable on their feet and the eggs don’t roll around as much when bumped by siblings. Cleaning the unit is easy. The top needs nothing more than to be carefully wiped with a paper towel lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol will disinfect and evaporate almost instantly, keeping all the electronic elements safe. The bottom base has grooves that are quickly cleaned with Q-tips. After draining the humidity water, I use a hair dryer to blow egg shell pieces out of the water trough crannies and clean everything with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips so it is disinfected for the next batch. My picky, full-scale cleaning is still completed in 15 minutes. I’ve been so pleased with this incubator that I’m already saving for a second one! Before buying, I spent several weeks researching incubators and then carefully selected the Nurture Right 360. I’m so glad I did! Increasing my flock (and the neighbor’s) has been a breeze! If you are brand new to incubating, want a no-fuss unit that is very reliable with a huge viewing window for children to observe AND wouldn’t mind chicks hatching a bit early, this is the one for you! Update February 2021: I’m using this incubator for the third hatching season and I’m still thrilled with it! I did learn the hard way that my hatch rates plummet if the incubator is near a sunny window. It seems the UV rays through the window glass and clear incubator lid affect the eggs (even blue ones) and it dropped my hatch rates to 65%. Moved the incubator across the room and hatch rates went back to 95-100%. ... show more

  • Small Silkie bantam eggs work on this great incubator!
The media could not be loaded. Smaller Silkie chicken eggs work as long as you face the smaller pointy ends inward. The turning process scared the begivies outta me at first because it turns so fast but after I candled them on day 7 and put them back in a more evenly spread out and with pointy ends facing inwards, the spin is less spastic and is now perfect! ! Before this, the eggs were spinning sideways and were getting stuck upside-down but luckily none broke 😄 PROS: I also love that I don’t have to open the incubator to add water!! The water slot is on the outside! Don’t have to turn the eggs! I’d prefer it to turn slower but it actually works! This incubator actually shows humidity! It’s large and will be very nice and easy to watch chicks hatch! Incubation lockdown will be a breeze! Remember that 3 days before they hatch: you gotta take the turning trey out, put soft shelf liner on the bottom, and uncover and fill the other water trey! It keeps track of incubation lockdown so you potentially don’t have to take the spinning trey out(but I won’t take my chances) CONS hard to open the incubator by myself so I have someone else hold the top for me because it’s bigger than my other incubators. Hard to place the lid back on: it takes a lot of careful fiddling to get the top back on correctly. It has a candling light on top but it doesn’t really work: the light light up the entire incubator bottom so I just end up getting blinded. It’s fine because a small flashlight I cup between my hands in a pitch dark room does the trick! Later review? When the eggs hatch I’ll come back and give it my final review because this product can’t be rated fairly until all of my 17 eggs are hatched! ... show more

  • Easy to Use, Nearly Mindless
I just finished hatching my first batch of chicks with this. I had a 50% hatch rate using eggs I collected from my own coop. I have 1 rooster to about 13 hens, and at least 3 are older, so I wasn't expecting all to be fertilized. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The automatic egg turner made hatching nearly mindless for me. Once I inserted the eggs, all I had to do was fill the little pots with water to adjust humidity. I checked on it once a day to top off the water pots until 3 days before hatch when I had to remove the egg turner and crank up the humidity. Very simple and easy to use incubator for beginners, and probably just fine for experienced hatchers, too. Temp and humidity were steady through (as long as I made sure the water pot was filled). ... show more
