I am undoubtedly a Makita guy for power tools. This is my 4th Makita tool and 2 months in it serves me just like I thought it would. Yes, its a touch heavy, and yes slightly cumbersome. Hold on to the darn thing and bust some nuts. I bought this as a small repair shop and specifically for old rusted junk that I work on daily I want nuts and bolts to either come off as the should or break off one or the other but one of those needs to happen, this impact gun archives that. I was given a small Makita lock bit impact 5 years ago and told it did not work. I bought a battery and still beat the bag out of it daily 7 days a week most weeks, 5 years later, and with previous apparent hard use. I now own 3 batteries, 1 radio (bought used, very used, works great) 1 reciprocating saw, 1 clip lock impact and 1 1/2" impact all are amazing. Register your tools clean them every so often maintain them and they are well worth the money. Can't wait to get another Makita product 18v drill is next on the list ... show more

I bought this for my RV during traveling. With the OEM wrench it was very difficult to remove the tire lug nut. Just receive this and tested to remove the lug nut on my sprinter van. It took a few second to loosen it up. So it works great. Can't say much about longevity or battery life. But I am sure on a 5AMP battery I should be able to remove the tire and reinstall it. ... show more

It's bigger and heavier than I thought, but if you need the torque, it delivers. I still use my compact 1/2" impact for most tasks (automotive) but when you need something removed, this is the guy. I'd recommend going with the 3/4" version if you do mostly larger diameter fasteners that are more common in 3/4" ... show more

It's a decent unit. I own the Milwaukee Fuel m18 gun as well so I have comparison. This Makita kicks like a mule and not in a good way. it's a two handed operation it's not uncommon for it to jar the socket off of the hardware. The torque is comparable to the Fuel. I like the speed adjust on this gun better. The isolated battery is a nice touch. The quality is decent. Gun itself is enormous. Just it feels dated compared to others. ... show more
