I love these napkins! The fabric is a nice weight and the workmanship is superb. I haven’t washed them yet, so I’m not sure how they’ll hold up. I am sold on most designs from Maison d' Hermine. i must now own most all of their offerings and i usually buy the napkins, place mats, too. i have two tables and can also buy a matching cloth for my round table in another room. the quality keeps me returning. easy to wash, needs to be ironed after washing (most do) and i love all the designs so i can change out my dining table on the changes of season. i have the Deer in the Woods i use for after Christmas and until spring arrives. i do love a nicely set table, it makes dining with others more of an event when you take the time to make it special for them. this is a good company, i have never had an issue with. ... show more

I have the Birds on a Wire pattern and the fabric is very soft. The napkins come out of the dryer almost wrinkle free. I love them. The ones I purchased in the Potiron pattern are too rough to use for company or a special meal. They also are not all cut correctly - they don’t fold nicely because some of the edges were cut on the bias instead of straight. ... show more

I ordered these in the Amazonia print for a small dinner party. A couple of comments, as the photos are misleading. The back of the napkin is stark white, not the same off white/taupe as the front with the print. The napkins are also cut incorrectly and none of mine were even close to an exact square. They are still printed beautifully and I received several compliments. Just frustrating for display, as there were several folding styles that wouldn’t work because they were all slightly misshapen. They do absorb well, and came out completely clean after a wash. ... show more

I’ve always loved the Fair Isle pattern...the blend of Celtic and Norse. My lady likes to lay out the good stuff from time to time...the good silver and crystal, and the China with linen napkins. Well, now we can pepper a bit of my Viking heritage in there, too. And serve a whole passel of folks while we’re at it (got her a full dozen napkins) These are big and bold, and a nice soft weave - feels good to the touch on the fingertips or lips - and look exceptionally nice on the Farmhouse table I just refinished. I washed these before use, and although I preferred to iron them, they stayed perfectly square after laundering. All eight! No crooked hems, either. I bought the tablecloth as well, and have bought three other sets, too. All are beautiful, and wash well. I've had two of them for over 4 years, and they still look new. Hated the material, it’s a kind of shiny, slippery fabric. Not absorbent at all. The color of the pattern ends up looking slightly dirty after it’s washed and not shiny.
