The thermal door blocks off a room in our house so we can air condition it with a window unit. It definitely works well in that capacity. The only issue I had is the double sided tape that holds it to the door frame isn't super strong. It comes packaged with thumbtacks as a back up, but the tacks have plastic heads and are difficult to hammer in. Actual metal nails would be a better option. The instructions are a bit hard to read (likely translation errors), but installation is pretty straightforward, so that shouldn't cause a problem. ... show more

I was looking for a solution to the problem of cold air getting in from a mud room in the winter. This is in western Maine, to give you an idea of the cold!! I was not expecting much and preparing myself to be disappointed but this item completely surprised me and surpassed my expectations. The magnets provide a great seal, keeping the cold air out and heat in. MUCH more convenient than the system of multiple heavy blankets which we had rigged up (and just as effective!). I am considering buying another one to contain heat in the living room. My only complaint and it is a minor one, is that it would be nice if it was possible to purchase this item with different LENGTHS as well as WIDTHS. This would improve the performance of the door and provide even more custom fit. ... show more
