Despite being a very novice sewer, this little gadget has proven to be quite a help. Previously, I'd struggled to line-up my seams to fabric edges and other seams. Now it's a cinch. The magnet is super-strong. As you position it near metal it snaps right out of your fingertips, yet once in-place you can easily nudge it into position without worrying it might move around on its own. The spring level is handy when a section of uneven fabric comes along. The attached photo shows how using this gadget helped me keep two adjacent seams spaced evenly apart.     • quick guide - good magnet
I really like how easy it is to use - magnet is pretty powerful. Had issues with the magnet slipping from alignment. Not sure if vibration of machine was causing. If I didn't watch it, my seams became crooked. Other than that - it works great.

This is a very strong magnet which I place on the sewing machine’s needle plate. It is a better visual guide for keeping the edge of the fabric in line with the stitching by line.

    • Better in theory than reality
The magnet is strong, product appears to be made well. The issue is the spring that allows the foot to come down is way too weak, even for simple binding (there's not enough "foot" pressure). Also, it's awkward on machines with slightly raised throat plates (Juki 1541s). Save yourself money and get cheap magnets for lining up fabric. ... show more
