A neighbor bought a magnetic mount like this, It stuck well to his truck as long as the potholes he did miss. I thought I’d give it a try, So I got one on the sly. It arrived to my disappointment, It’s grand debut or rather royal anointment, Would have to wait as only one comes in a pack, The other one I would lack. Now I could just buy another, But looking at this I think I’d just quick fab the other. There less than nothing to it, A magnet and a piece of angle metal together you screw it. This is an interesting idea. The magnets appear strong, and the steel, powder-coated bracket appears solid. The kit comes disassembled, but one only needs to secure one screw to attach the base to the magnet.with a supplied hex bolt and Allen key. I attached the lightbar to the mounts before attaching to the roof. Once paced on the roof, it was a solid magnetic connection. Because of my rooflines, ribbing, and curves, the dual-magnet mount would not be feasible. I loosened the bracket bolts going into the lightbar, adjusted the angle of the light, and confirmed the magnets were flush with the surface of my roof. I have not driven with this setup yet. My only concern is that the single magnet may not be powerful enough to withstand speeds in excess of 70 MPH. I imagine if the single magnet bracket was enough, the dual magnet bracket would be unnecessary. I’ll have to review the description and see if the manufacturer has a recommended light weight restriction for the single/dual magnet mounts. ... show more

I got this so I could put easily removable lights on the ROPS on my tractor. I wanted something removable since I sometimes use the tractor around low branches that would otherwise damage lights on top the ROPS. This mount did the trick. The magnet holds very well on the rollbar and it is definitely not coming off unless you actually pull it off. Sitting on the flat surface of the ROPS I would estimate it takes more than 30 pounds of force to pull the light off. As long as you have a flat steel surface this is perfect for temporary or even semi-permanent light mounting with no drilling with required. ... show more
