If you have a kid who loves "that game" and also enjoys blocks, this set is a no brainer! It's perfect for setting up scenes and very satisfying to snap together. The colors are very bright and match with my child's expectations. The size of each cube is good. Not so large that it's like a toddler toy but not so small that it's annoying or dangerous. They somehow feel in scale with the game. The magnets are great. The blocks are easy to pull apart but also stick together really well. They can span a gap of 11 blocks stuck together horizontally with nothing supporting them if you are very careful and less than that really easily. This means that arches and tunnels and caves are entirely doable. They also stack really tall and stay stable. You can actually put them part way over each other rather than perfectly lined up if that's your jam...but that isn't possible in "the game" so not really of interest to my kiddo. I did take off one star because you really need two sets to really get the most out of the toy if your child is old enough to want this because it looks like "the game". If you have a younger child just one set would probably be okay. I saw from the reviews that this was a pretty common sentiment and it was Prime Day so I went ahead and bought a second set at the same time. Two sets would be great for a starter set for an older elementary child, though! ... show more

Well packaged, comes with storage bag and instructional manuals to give you some building ideas. Some of the ideas you cannot build as you need more blocks than what it comes with. They are smooth and stay connected securely. Brightly colored and easy to work with.

My son and grand daughter started playing mind craft on the Switch and computer this last year. She is really having fun with it. She loves fidgets, crafts, painting and other creative things. So she took straight to these. I got her several deferent sets to combine. Though I found some were a bit smaller then others. This set has one inch cubes which seem to be common. Though I found some of the others have more or stronger magnets in them. Frankly the difference in the sets seem to help her be more creative and build more and different structures. ... show more

I bought this and another set for my son, who is 6 yrs old and loves Minecraft. I was surprised at how small the set actually is and how the pictures make it look like you're getting a lot more blocks. Luckily I bought at a decent discount on Prime Day, otherwise would not be worth the cost.
