I first bought this kit to use with my grandchildren ages 6( girl) and 9( boy). They both loved it and worked independently, with supervision. The kit is well made with lots of containers and sand. HOWEVER, the kit arrived in a badly damaged and torn item box. It looked like a return item. It was not a problem for me. I have since ordered two more kits which also came badly crushed. Not a problem for me since the items inside were not damaged. I would think twice before sending this as a gift item, unless you want to explain the damaged packaging . My only complaint is that I was using it for 2 kids and it only came with one funnel. Luckily I add a very small funnel that we were able to make work. Everything else was great.

Well my daughter loves it and that's what matters but when receiving the package one of the bags of sand was punctured so quite a bit of sand in one of the packages was drained out in the box. But overall still a good little product for arts and crafts.
