A thoughtful and well layed out book for everyone, not just seniors! The author has taken a very powerful machine and OS and broken it down into easily teachable, well thought out sections. While reading this book, you are taken on a journey through your Mac from start to finish. You will learn set up, transfer of data, meaningful use cases, back-up, erasure, start to finish. Content is explained with easy to follow narrative and well placed diagrams/pictures. A must have format for learning material like this. I am a seasoned and senior Apple ecosystem user. I was interested to see if I could pick up a pointer or two. I instead learned a pointer or two every chapter! Using my Mac Pro everyday, I get into ruts. This book was able to remind me of all the powerful things my laptop can do, with the built in and free apps! From the powerhouse of an OS, to how to manage my open windows, to how to take those windows onto a whole separate desktop (didn’t know this one before reading!), to the overpowered notes app, and the media sharing freeform app, and the reminders app that can work them all together, to Music, to Apple TV, and the dock and the control center and on and on!! These seem complicated, and they are, but I was also reminded how to set up my computer to unlock with my Apple Watch. Simple, yet a game changer and time saver! It did not stop at the laptop level though. The author went on to discuss how to integrate your Mac Air or Pro use with your iPad and iPhone. Set up your iPad next to your laptop, and voila, you have a multi-screen device. How do I get content from on to the other? MacBook Air and Pro for beginners walks you through the process. Apple, through its integrated OS, has given us a huge playground to expand our productivity into, but most of us will only scratch the surface unless we have a author such as Madison Foster to explain it. And in such a way that we can understand. If I had to criticize anything, it would be the title. I considered myself adept, if not an expert, with this platform. And I learned a ton. This book has provided me with exceptionally clear information that I can understand. I loved the illustrations and simple explanations. I've always been afraid to explore my Mac's capabilities, but with the explanations in the book, I feel confident and look forward to developing my tech skills.
