  • Great build quality, OK fit for 2009 Jeep JK
The quality of the welds were not phenomenal, but they were good. Feels like decently heavy gauge aluminum. The fit was a little rough, many of the bolt holes not quite lining up perfectly, and it is a little thicker than the OEM. Took some time, but I got it to fit. Will update if it springs any leaks. ... show more

  • great product but maybe not a direct fit
Size: 58TR
This is a very nice quality radiator and fit nicely in the original mounting holes (first picture), but was not a direct replacement. My truck is a camper special and apparently has an upgraded radiator as original equipment (second picture). So, the original radiator was a bit taller (maybe 2 inches on top and 2 inches on bottom) than this replacement that I ordered. It still fit the original mounting holes nicely but I couldn't use the fan shroud because the inflow and outflow ports were too close together. I also had to bend the transmission cooler lines a bit to reach the higher inlet locations and flex the radiator hoses to the new inlet/outlet locations. I would just recommend checking your original radiator size and if it looks like the 2nd picture I wouldn't purchase this radiator. I believe this would be a direct replacement if I didn't have the camper special radiator. Nice quality and is functioning well so far. ... show more

  • You may need a file or grinder to custom fit it.
Size: 87TR
Like others I had to grind and file around the 2 upper brackets to get this radiator to fit in my 2000 Silverado. I'm a mechanic so it wasn't biggie for me, I had the tools. Although thinning the metal kinda gives me the heebie-jeebies. Makes me wonder if I have other issues if they'll warrenty it. Something else that others should know is that this thing runs the engine much cooler, almost too cool in the winter. At first I thought it was my thermostat so I replaced it with a new 195 degree. In the heat of the Arizona summers it will reach 195, but in the cooler months it runs at 170 and it takes its time reaching that temp. I usually park inside, but one time I parked outside and came out to find my windshield frosted over. It took forever for the heater to defrost it. So for those in colder winter climates, you may need to get out and warm the engine up earlier and longer than you did with your old radiator. ... show more

  • good news and bad news....mostly good.
Size: 87TR
So first off, once in it works amazingly well and keeps my chevy 6.0 much cooler than the factory radiator. It also keeps my transmission cooler so that is a plus. I have absolutely zero complaints about the performance of this product and based solely on that, it would get 5 stars. Now the bad.....installation was not as easy as it should have been. First, the bottom spacers had to be ground down. Then the top ear on the passengers side had to be bent slightly. Those things made it fit. Finally, the adaptors for the oil cooler and the transmission cooler lines were more finicky and harder to get to where they did not leak than the factory ones. So bottom line is that if you don't mind messing with it a little to get it set up, it is great from there. I'd buy it again knowing what I know now. RL ... show more

  • Nicely made all-aluminum replacement for stock 34"
Size: 87TR
The workmanship on this radiator is stunning. The only issue I ran into was having to procure a couple of Dorman 800-605 fittings to match the threads of the transmission cooler line ports. Less than $7USD each. On my '06 Yukon, there were gaps on the sides, which I filled in with small foam pool noodles from the dollar store. Excellent value, could have paid the same or more for an OEM replacement with plastic manifolds. ... show more

  • Requires modifications, but a nice piece
Size: 87TR
I purchased this radiator for my 2007 GMC Yukon, 5.3 V8. Upon arrival the box was very beat up, nearly open, but all items were still inside. I must say, it’s a solid appearing piece with nice welds. Appears at face value to be a great alternative to the cheap factory replacements that fail quickly. This is where the love ended though… it’s a lot of messing around and troubleshooting to get this thing to work. Once I got through all of these issues, it seems to work well though :). Items that had to be modified to fit in the vehicle: 1. Lower Radiator Mount Bushings - Had to remove about 1/4-3/8” of thickness from them to accommodate the thick welds and tall side tanks. 2. I had to trim a good bit of the tabs on the radiator surface above the side tanks. I also used a file to round off all of the sharp edges on the mounting tabs. 3. The Electric Fans fit in, but the tabs welded on the radiator were too short for the mid mount on the fans. I made adapters to extend this from delrin acetal plastic. 4. MOST FRUSTRATING PART - Radiator to Expansion Tank hose bypass has no restriction orifice like the factory radiator has in it. You must make a small orifice piece with a 0.095-0.125” diameter hole to restrict the coolant flow. I made a small part from stainless steel with hose barbs on both ends. I used a 0.095” diameter orifice hole. Without this, the vehicle will cool down while driving. If idling or in traffic it would warm up to 208 degrees or so and turn on the fans as intended. On my HPTuners VCM Scanner, ECT at 70mph was only 150-155 deg F on a 50 degree day. Sounds awesome, but it’s not. The 07-14 GM vehicles (and potentially others) will throw a P0128 code for thermostat unable to regulate. The orifice is a controlled bypass of the thermostat. With too much bypass, the engine cannot heat up as too much cold water is routed into the engine, around the thermostat. This code causes a dash warning of “ENGINE HOT AC TURNED OFF”. It is confusing as the code infers the engine is overheating but it’s not. It also shuts off the coolant temperature gauge inside the truck, which is a great idea when you think you are overheating. Anyways… Install the orifice and this goes away. The engine heats up to 208 degrees, just as it used to. Would I buy again… yes, but only because I know all of the things above. It works great now, and I’m sure it will be great when the warmer weather comes. Just to add… I’m an Engineer by trade and was previously an ASE certified mechanic. ... show more
