Description

Need to accommodate an extra guest? The LUCID Rollaway Bed with Memory Foam Mattress is a perfect and comfortable solution. Not only does it fold up for easy storage, but the 4 inch memory foam mattress gives your guest exceptional comfort for a good night's rest. The rayon from bamboo cover is even ideal for sensitive skin. The heavy duty steel frame offers 11 inches of clearance so your guest can easily stow luggage below. The supporting deck absorbs impact, successfully avoiding that "bouncy" feeling. Our dual locking wheels keep the frame in place and safe all through the night. Built for strength and durability, the steel frame also features a spring supported mattress deck. The rollaway is quick and easy to assemble. A cot sized rollaway bed requires specialty cot sized sheets, which are hard to find in your local department store. Pair this cot sized rollaway bed purchase with proper fitting sheets before you checkout.

  • Easy to Set Up and Very Comfortable.
Color: White and Black Size: Small Single
The LUCID Rollaway bed was purchased to be used as an extra guest bed when family comes to visit. I was a little nervous about the setup after reading other people's reviews about holes not lining up, but I think that if there were any manufacturing issues at one point, they have since been resolved. Setup took just a few minutes and did not require any tools. The two legs at the bottom of the bed are already attached and just fold down. Two crossbars and four wheels are added once the legs are folded down. The cross bars keep the legs from folding back up and the wheel units are held in place with a wing nut that is easily tightened by hand. There are also four additional bars that are attached between each of the four pairs of legs to the bed. (Once attached, the legs will automatically raise and lower as you fold the bed up or down.) These are held in place with eight more bolts and wing nuts. I did run across a faulty wing nut (bad threading) in each of the beds that I ordered, but the package included an extra, so I had what I needed to complete setup. Once the four support bars are attached, the bed can be folded down and all that remains is to open the memory foam mattress and place it on top of the bed platform. A couple of notes/tips: 1. Make sure to allow for a couple of days for the mattress to fully expand after setup. Much like other memory foam products, the mattress is vacuum sealed and will take a bit of time to fully expand. (Although I did test it after just a few hours and it was already very comfortable.) 2. While allowing the mattress to expand, I'd suggest leaving it in the garage or in a well-ventilated room. At first I had the beds set up in the family room without any noticeable smell, but once they were assembled and moved into a smaller room, there was a definite smell of fresh foam padding. The smell went away after a couple of days, but I did leave the bedroom window open for ventilation. 3. When you fold the bed down the first time, it may pop back up on one end. With my beds, I noticed that platform had little rods sewn into pockets along the edges (for the springs to attach to) which had shifted a little in transit. I had to nudge one rod slightly back into place and the bed stayed down. 4. Bedding: I used twin-size sheets without any issues, but if you want the bottom, fitted sheet to be snug on the mattress, I'd suggest getting sheet clips/grippers. You can buy cot sheets that will fit without the clips, but I was able to buy twin sheet sets and clips for both rollaway beds for much less than a single cot sheet set. 5. Height: The bed does not sit very high off the ground. For children who fall off the bed at night or young adults, this won't be an issue. For elderly guests you may want to look for a rollaway that sits higher off the ground as this bed may be difficult for them to get into/out of. 6. Weight: The bedframe and mattress together are both very lightweight and easy to move around on the included wheels. As far as the weight that the bed can support, I could not find any listed weight, but a 275lb adult used it without any issues. Overall, I am very happy with the two beds that I purchased and will probably buy a couple more as our family gatherings continue to grow. One of the nicest things about this bed is that there are no uncomfortable cross beam supports to poke you in the back. The platform gives nice support while also allowing the bed to conform to your body shape. It is a very comfortable rollaway. **2016 UPDATE** As I thought I might, I've had to add another rollaway bed to the collection for visiting family members. As I set up the new bed, I noticed a couple of changes that I thought I'd mention because it changed a couple of my notes from the previous purchases of the same bed. Change to #1 Above: The memory foam mattress pad is no longer vacuum sealed when shipped. Instead, the fully expanded mattress is sealed in a plastic bag with a couple of moisture absorbing packets and shipped fully expanded in the box. This means that you won't have to wait for the mattress to expand before using it. Change to #3 Above: The manufacturer has changed the way that the poles are sewn into the edge of the support platform and you won't have to worry about the poles slipping out of the pockets any longer. This is a small but very nice change and it also makes the support platform look much more finished. New Change: The zippered mattress cover that comes on the memory foam mattress core now has a non-slip textured surface on the bottom to help keep the mattress in place on the platform. It also seems to make it much easier to fold the bed up after use. (The old covers were fabric on all sides and could slip out of place when the beds were folded up. I am still very happy with these beds (both the original ones purchased, and the new ones) and continue to use them for visiting friends/family. ... show more

  • Awesome Cot
Color: White Size: Twin XL
This product is very comfy, easy to open and close, rolls great, easy install, and very compact. It is something that you can fold up and just use when needed or I’d have no problem sleeping in it all semester in college. The box was a little ripped when received, but the product was not damaged at all. It was easy to take out of the box and unfold. There is easy to use install guide (with pictures/diagrams). No tools Necessary!!! it was just hand screwing a few things and BAM your done. I didn’t even need any help setting it up. This is a compact not to heavy (but heavy enough you wouldn't want to hall it around long distance), sturdy rollaway bed. It is very easy to open and close, and rolls smoothly. It comes with locks on the wheels so you can make sure it stays stationary. It is easy to close and roll into the closet for simple storage. This is super comfy, and is nice to sleep in specially with the memory foam pad that was thicker than I thought it would be. It is nice size for an average sized person (I am 5'5”). Overall I would give this a 5 star rating. It is a great product worth the money. ... show more

  • Comfortable & Stores Easily
Color: White Size: Twin
This bed is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a twin size bed that was comfortable, and when it wasn't needed, could store away easily. My Mom visited me for a week, and she loved sleeping on this bed. It has a memory foam mattress, and you can't feel any bars through the bed. After she was gone, the bed easily folded up for storage in the closet. I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy it again. ... show more

  • Very comfortable
Color: White and Black Size: Small Single
I broke my leg two weeks ago and I am restricted to the main floor of my house. Bedrooms are on the second floor. I purchased the cot for a place to sleep for the next six weeks of therapy. It was very easy to assemble. It feels very sturdy for my first time sleeping in it. The mattresses extremely comfortable for a thinner memory foam mattress. I would recommend this cot for anyone trying to accommodate extra people. It doesn't take up much room and provides a good nights sleep. ... show more

  • This bed is very comfortable and easy to move around
Color: White and Black Size: Small Single
I am 6' 230 lbs. I have been sleeping on this bed for four nights and all I can say is, WOW! This bed is very comfortable and easy to move around. It is much better than any air mattress I have slept on. It is everything it is advertised to be.

  • Good spare bed.
Color: White and Black Size: Small Single
This bed is a great spare bed. Easy for storing in smaller areas, but folds out to a good size. It is very close to twin sized length with it being a little narrower than a standard twin. I use twin sheets with sheet grippers to hold them in place width wise. The mattress is nice and firm and comfortable. The bed has no hard braces across under the mattress, so nothing to irritate you when laying on it, but good support. I've laid on it and it's far better than I thought it might be. As one other reviewer stated, the four long braces have a bit of a sharp edge - it's from the metal mold and easily fixed. Use a metal file and it smooths those edges. Also, yes I found that the holes on the short braces for the wheels weren't large enough for the wheel bolts to go through, drilled them out a tiny bit and they fit perfect. Easy fixes to make this a great spare bed. We use it for the granddaughter's visits and she completely enjoys it. Overall we are completely pleased with this bed. ... show more

  • SO much better than alternative options
Color: White and Black Size: Small Single
SO much better than alternative options. We initially bought a different brand and it didn’t last long as the support bent on the ends after use leaving the middle bar being felt and the cot deemed useless. THIS LUCID COT is more like a trampoline on the bottom - NO BAR! Even if it were to sag, you wouldn’t have that bar hurting. It’s great! I like the cot size to fit in more small spaces than the twin in our smaller home. Great product! I imagine we will buy another one at some point! ... show more
