Ok so I bought this thing based on the review someone left saying that it stood up well to a project they did involving rocks. Well, I can confirm that it definitely definitely definitely stands up to rocks. I used it to sift, rinse and reinstall at least 400lbs of rock border on my property. And these weren't nice simple round river rocks, these were sharp, jagged broken up black and red sandstone. I put this thing throug its paces. I shoveled rock into it, I washed rock over a bucket in it, I wandered around the yard sifting soil out of it and shaking it aggressively. And it's still ticking! It didn't even pop a single seam. I'll still be able to use it to sift compost (or maybe another few hundred pounds of rocks) later! ... show more

    • Great for cleaning rocks
This strainer helps make cleaning the rocks I find much easier. The wire mesh is sturdy and can hold a good amount of rocks.

    • Durable and useful
I purchased this for our landscaping rock project in the yard. I was skeptical it would be able to handle hiw roughly we used it, but it held up! Impressive durability. Would not hesitate to get another in future!

    • Good job but better if it fit a bucket
This sieve is light and so far, pretty robust. It is small so one can't get much production done in a big hurry but I suppose the size is as such because they say it fits a standard 5 gallon bucket. It does not. It's exactly the same diameter as a 5 gallon bucket's rim so it will not fit inside the bucket rim nor outside of the bucket rim .. hence the 4 stars. This ill fit makes it significantly harder to use as you have to hold it in place. That said it does a good job and I'm getting my dirt cleaned out albeit at a snails pace. ... show more

    • Great for potatoes, too!
I use this to knock the dirt off my potatoes when I harvest them from my garden. I don't wash my potatoes until right before cooking them, so a little dirt is okay. But this sifter makes the job of getting the last big clumps off my potatoes much easier.

It's useful, but it does not fit any 5 gallon bucket I tried, lowes, home depot so it will only rest on top and will slide off.

Stainless steel, but thin gauge, so flimsy. Most important to know is that it is just a little too big to fit on a US 5-gallon bucket. So if you were planning to use it to sift dirt into a bucket, it is not easy to manage. The bottom of the sifter is exactly the same diameter as the bucket, so it slips and slides while you are trying to keep it steady. ... show more
