  • Causes PC to power back on after shutdown
Dell Optiplex 390 (and maybe many others). SYMPTOM: Imedieately powers back on after shutting down via software. Traced the cause to a faulty add-on PCI-E USB 3 card, LTERIVER PCE-IN2EX2. This board was turning on the PC via the "WAKE# Link Reactivation" signal on pin 11 side B (component side) of the PCI-E port. Since I will never use the "power on via USB" feature, I removed the gold foil from the contact on the board using an Exacto knife, see photo. Perfect fix. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
I like that it was easy to install and came with the hardware you might need. I have been able to transplant my PC into a newer, modern case with some USB 3.0 ports at the front IO. A minor thing I don't like is the metal plate the PCB is mounted to is not quite at the right level to match the PCI slot, it's maybe out by ~1mm. As a result, the board is slightly tilted (see my pic). Besides that, it's been performing great on my PC for a week and it works as advertised. ... show more

  • Works well for HP Elite 8000 series comptuers
The HP Elite 8600 computers, that are used for server purposes, doesn't include USB 3.0 on the motherboard and was an optional item. This interface fits well and provides the power needed for USB devices. This was installed with a removable HD device with USB 3.0 interfaces. One installed, I tested it on a Kingston 128 GB flash memory card backing it up to another drive on the server. The process was completed in less than 40 minutes (flash drive was at capacity). I did have to install the drivers for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 since the device manager didn't recognize the device. ... show more

  • Works fine, but it screwed up my computer.
I was looking for a way to add some speed to my usb ports by upgrading to this card which would add 3 usb 3.0 ports. Installation was a breeze and the drivers automatically updated. Worked fine…life is good! Then, I turned off my computer, at least I tried to turn off my computer. It would not shut down. I’m not geek enough to realize that the card was causing the problem and so after looking to Microsoft for answers as to how to shutdown my machine to no avail, and then resetting Windows and having to reinstall all of my programs (again to no avail) it finally hit me that the card was the problem. I unplugged the computer, removed the card, started it back up, turned it off and, “voila”, back in business. Don’t buy this card. ... show more

  • easy way to upgrade an old machine
my desktop is 14 years old, but i have managed to keep it going by repairing and replacing parts myself. this was a welcome addition making backups and data transfers much faster. should have done it a long time ago.

  • Wasn't sheer enough in my case.
Im not too sure about "sheerness" (see star ratings above), but very convenient for a little older, but still very capable PC while working on a new build. Plug it in and forget about it. Very strange thing which im not going to blame this product for, but a cheaper USB3.0 wireless adapter singed upon insert. Tested port with other add ons and its fine. Still five stars as the usb 3.0 is very much faster ... show more
