  • IT'S A KEEPER...
ONE MONTH UPDATE: I've owned quite a few helmets over the years and this one is by far, the best. Everything about is well designed: The way the chin-bar is out of the way in open mode, the mechanism that operates the sun visor, comfort, padding, weight... everything. My only complaint is that it is noisy without earplugs or earbuds in, but unless you want hearing loss, you should be wearing some protection (I do now more than I did before). I hope LS2 keeps improving this model and keeps it in their product line. When it comes time for me to buy another, this is the one I'm going to get. Buying a helmet shouldn't be hard, but it is. Think about it... You REALLY should try it on before you buy it, and not every retailer has every helmet in every size. If you go the brick and mortar route you're pretty much stuck with whatever your dealer or retailer has in stock, and if you're not close to a huge retailer your choices are going to be limited. So... I did a TON of research. My first choice was a SHARK modular, but then through one video or another I found this LS2 instead. With the price substantially lower and with PRIME shipping, I decided to give this one a try. Carpenters have a saying... measure twice, cut once meaning, be sure you've measured properly before you mess something up. Unfortunately for me my measurements were on the cusp between MEDIUM and LARGE sizes. I ended up measuring five or six different times and got some that fell at the top of MEDIUM and some at the bottom of LARGE. I read the reviews, and went with the larger size and I'M GLAD I DID. Medium would most definitely would have been too tight for my melon, and would have been uncomfortable. Anyway, the helmet is beautiful... I bought the AVANT graphic and it's real nice. The fit and function of everything is spot-on and I'm very happy with the way everything is. I've never had a helmet with a built-in tinted sun-shield. It's nice, but I need to get used to it and I'm sure I will. I LOVE the function of being moving the chin-bar out of the way (ALL THE WAY BACK), and converting it to a half helmet. It's awesome. AND ... it looks terrific in both positions. Gotta say, this modular helmet is noisier that my full face Shoei and my half-face Zox. I don't know how it stacks up with other modulars (this is my first), but let's just say that it reminded me that I should be using earplugs while I'm out riding. Also... yes it's heavy, but about as heavy as my Shoei I think (I didn't weigh both, but I don't really notice a difference between the two). In conclusion, if you're looking for a modular helmet this one should be on your short-list. It's features ticks off all the check boxes, the price is great, and the quality & warranty (5 years) are spot-on. ... show more

  • Awesome helmet
Color: White Size: Medium
Never thought I’d spend this much on a helmet but this is big time bang for your buck and actually a really good value. The modular aspect is fantastic. Had to return for next size up but this is super comfortable. I did not get too much wind noise, wasn’t bad at all (behind a windshield). Ventilation is good. Transitioning from full face to open, to shield down to darker shades are all very simple while riding. Helmet is not too heavy, I already rode for hours with no issue. Wish I bought this helmet years ago and will buy again if the time comes for replacement, I think it is a terrific value, very versatile and actually entices you to want to wear a helmet. BTW, it is a very good looking helmet. Field of vision is amazing for a full face modular. Additionally, I wear prescription glasses and the helmet is very glasses friendly. Very pleased with this model. ... show more

  • Great helmet
Color: Matte Black Size: Medium
I love this helmet, I did go to a cycle shop and tried on other helmets. Full face helmets offer the best protection when riding. This helmet has pads on the chin straps, is light weight, love the visor system. Also came with a dark sun shield if you want to change out from the clear, does have drop down sun glass also. Overall a wonderful helmet. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • One of the best modular helmets
I'm a helmet hog. I get new a one about every 6 months. I normally wear a large in the Bell, HJC, etc. After reading the reviews, I ordered the XL. Fits great. I have the medium oval shaped head. As others have stated, it is tight on the cheeks. I've had it a months now and use it almost daily. Normal commute is 20 miles round trip. I take 2-4 hour trips when I can just for fun. The cheek tightness hasn't gone away as some say they think it will, but I've gotten used to it. It just bugs me a bit if I change to another helmet then come back to it. Another thing that I don't like is the rather small button for the chin bar. It is one of the smallest buttons I've ever had on a modular. It works good, just small. Next is the ratchet strap. While it is metal and considered by most to be safer, it doesn't operate as smooth as the others. The tab on the shield is a pain to operate if you are trying to use the shield at one of the shops instead of full open or closed. The top vent is noisy. The shield fogs easily when stopped without airflow. The removable liner is not easy to remove. Other brands have abolished this style. It works but is a little frustrating. The good: The chin bar flips up and will move the shield out of the way with ease. The interior feels good and the fit is great. The top vent works well and is firm/solid. The chin vents works well and are firm/solid as well. There is an included inflatable collar that you can inflate and put on your shoulders that will help support the helmet if you fell it is too heavy. This is really neat. For me, no problem, but my wife likes these support collar as she is rather petite. The fit and finish is above average. Works good with my glasses and fat head. When the chin bar is to the rear, it still feels good and doesn't feel like it is out of balance. I like the slight tint of the sunshade, but others find it too light. The sunshad operation is very smooth and firm. It comes all the way down without hitting on the nose. Nose/mouth are still visible from outside the helmet. Summary: Overall I still am happy I purchased the helmet. The good outweighs the negative. The tab in the center of the shield and the not so smooth ratchet strap are the only negatives that are big negatives. The company does have other cheek pads for those that want to change them. Yes, I'd purchase it again and I do recommend it. There is a new model coming out this month though. ... show more
