  • Really works
I use it to make flat my broken lampworkbeads, and it works perfect!

  • Works with stained glass and a 600 W microwave oven
I was concerned about whether or not I could use my stained glass scraps and a 600W microwave. My first attempt worked. I am not sure about the time needed. 6 minutes were not enough so I gave it another 6 and it fused. I had to leave before it was finished so less time might work.

  • Works good but small
Works very well and it is what it was advertized as. I was amazed that such a thing existed and bought one just to see if it worked. I never used one before or even saw one used before, but my first try worked fine. I've made about a dozen things successful for curio-grade trinkets. It takes somewhat more time than I expected, about 6 minutes on my 1200 watt oven using fuseworks 90 coe glass and a few hour cooling time. It is small. It can only do one small part at a time. If I was even going to be serious about it, I would definitely want a larger one. They are fragile, I haven't broken my yet, but probably will. It is quite fun and amazing.for a beginner. • Works OK
This is not indestructible, but works pretty well. It takes some seasoning to reach temperatures reliably. Mine developed cracks in the metallic lining and one spot where the lining has curled up a bit - maybe from reaching a higher temp than it was designed for. It now gets incandescent after about two minutes in microwave although I generally zap it for about 4 minutes to get sufficient glass melting. The cracks don't seem to affect its heating properties. ... show more

  • I'm pretty pleased with this kiln so far
I'm pretty pleased with this kiln so far. It's performed better than my other microwave kiln and I'm able to get some pretty neat pieces fired in it. Keep in mind this package only contains the kiln. For beginners you'll need kiln paper and safety gloves before operation or you'll have a mess on your hands. Also, gradually bring the kiln up to temperature by using the microwave wave settings (like 50% power for a minute or two, then 70% for a minute etc) at least until you know what the glass and the kiln will do will lead to greater success. So far I've been 90% successful with my pieces and the 10% off have been due more to user error (me!) and the kiln itself. ... show more

  • Does not perform as well as others
I bought this one to replace my previous "Fuseworks" unit. It takes a far longer timespan in the microwave to obtain the same results. I'm guessing the internal lining is not as robust as other manufacturers. I would not buy it again.

  • I must have gotten a good one
I had a Fuseworks brand microkiln first and wanted to buy another to use while the Fuseworks one cooled. I've been using them both "to death" and I'm pretty happy, to be honest. This one is the same size as my "original" one and works ALMOST as well. I think pieces take just slightly longer in here but it's not bad. And it's much less expensive than a full-priced Fuseworks. I've even been able to cinter a small silver Art Clay piece in it!! ... show more

  • Not a toy but fun
I’ve had lots of fun learning how to melt and fuse glass. I bought it to create shapes for mosaic tile projects. There’s a learning curve, the device has limitations, and there aren’t many directions. But for the money, it’s remarkable.
