This is the only mascara I will use. Its waterproof but also washes off with soap and water. I dont want to deal with the whole make up remover stuff. I use it daily for many years (at least 10 years). I used to use the brown but that has been discontinued, so now I use the black. This mascara is great if you have watery runny eyes, where non-waterproof will just make a mess. If you go swimming with a lot of water use it may ware off, but if you just get a little bit of water exposure it will stay strong. If you rub your eyes it will ware off, especially if wet. It goes on smooth but does not go on chunky, where I have golden eyelashes, this is better for me. A mascara that goes on thick looks horrid, considered I am soo far skinned and I prefer more of a natural look. This mascara is not to make lashes longer and/or thicker, its best for just giving color and making them look natually beautiful. I personally dont like all the new stuff, I just want simple adding of color that does look like I am ready for the club. You can apply multiple layers and it can look more dramatic, if wanted. I find that when you first open you need to expose a little pumped in air to it, since it comes out really thin. But dont do too much otherwise it will dry out and get clumpy (never pump your mascara). Because it comes off in pieces (and does dissolve) when washing it off with soap it does settle in the drain and can cause clogging if you have alot of hair getting the drain, I have very long hair so we have to clean up the drain regularly. I will continue to use the product as long as it exist and I use mascara. ... show more

This mascara is not even close to the Avon washable waterproof mascara that I have purchased over the last 20 years. Why is it being sold as Avon when there is no indication of it being Avon on the packaging? This item is being sold as an Avon product which is clearly is not!
