With the summer heat we have been keeping our blinds closed all day to keep the house temperature down. My houseplants were missing the sun light. Decided to buy a few of these lights. These look good and were easy to assemble. The lights with the base seem a little more stable vs the lights with stakes/pole placed directly into soil. However, if you have a very tall plant you will need the lights without the base. Would recommend buying some mini strips of Velcro. The Velcro strips work a lot better at attaching the cords to the pole than twist ties. With the mini velcro strips/roll just cut off the length you need. Pull the cord tight and wrap the Velcro around the pole near the base. Overall a great purchase. Love the timer function. ... show more

I work in an office that has no natural light so I needed something that looked good and fit into a small space. These lights did the trick! Easy to set up, adjustable height, and the timer works great. It's nice knowing I don't have to worry about my plants getting light over the weekend too. I get compliments daily on how nice the setup is with these. The small downfall is that there is no USB connection - I thought it did, but I also read so many different spec pages that I probably just overlooked it. I rescued this Thanksgiving Cactus from very near death in January. I was doing my best to rehab her, and she sprouted two new leaves between January and June. I ordered this grow light two weeks ago and in those two weeks, she’s sprouted TWENTY-ONE new leaves!! The adjustable height would work well for a variety of plant sizes and it’s got a good cord length. I set it once for 12 hours and it just takes care of itself every day. Good quality light should not only talk about the spectrum of light, but the amount of light. That is, lumens output or lux (lumens/square meter) of incident light. Unfortunately, they often like to talk about number of LEDs which is meaningless. E.g. can design an 8 LED that is brighter and more uniform than 64 LED. We had a cheap 8buck light that measured about 800 lux at the plant bed. Replaced with this much better quality LORDEM unit for only a few dollars more than that. This thing is 10x as bright measuring around 8,000 lux. Light is very bright and uniform. The telescoping neck works well. We are using it in the 12 to 24" range. Telescoping mechanism is easy to adjust but firm enough to hold position snugly. ... show more

I happen to have a spectroscope on hand since I work with optics a bit, and I can confirm that this is continuous over the visible spectrum as advertised. I don't know much more than that, but I can at least say this light worked on both plants I tried it on. I wish I had taken pictures, but my office succulent looked much better after I brought this to work. I work in a room with no windows but my lipstick echeveria does better in full sun. His leaves were splayed so flat that the container's sides were irritating his leaves a bit. It's been about a month and his leaves are hovering over the container sides nicely, and his inner leaves have cinched in much more. I also tried this at home for some indoor seeds, and within a few days, 2 had sprouted. The timer doesn't have much adjustability, but it is very simple and I like that. After my last lamp died I needed a new lamp for my desk plant at work. came across this one, has tons of decent reviews. I love how long the cord is to fit the closest plug to my desk. the metal base seems pretty sturdy. overall it has a nice feel to it, I won't have to worry about knocking it over. love the timer feature it works perfect for me. I just set it to 12 hours and forget about not having to turn the lamp off at the end of the day. plus I know my plant will get the light it needs on the weekends. overall happy with my purchase.
