I work in a laboratory so I am constantly surrounded by lots of sounds varying in pitch and frequency which can be very overwhelming, especially for someone with noise sensitivities. I have had multiple people recommend these to me, so I decided to give them a try. I so happy I did! When I put these in it feels like I’m coming into my peaceful little bubble. They allow me to have a higher tolerance of noise and have overall reduced my stress and overstimulation of the environment I’m in. It seems like they do a good job at blocking out noises I personally find the most distressing (ie. high pitched, constant noises). I have a coworker who has a quiet voice that tended to get lost in the sounds of the instruments I’m surrounded by, but when I started using these I could actually have a conversation with this person because I could finally hear him. They are earplugs, so when they are in things are a bit muffled (but I like this because it helps with the overstimulation for me). I have found that if I clean them every few days it helps when the muffling gets to be too much. If you follow the directions that come with the product, I believe they are pretty easy to use and do what they are claimed to do. Overall, I am very happy with the performance of this product. I cannot stress enough the amount of relief I feel when I am wearing these. It has overall allowed me to be more present, less uncomfortable in my surroundings, and better able to hear people when they speak to me. I would absolutely recommend these. My only disclaimer is that people have noticed these in my ears almost immediately when I started wearing them (i got the clear ones). However this is probably due to the fact that I wear my hair up at work so it is just more visible. ... show more

    • Helps with overstimulation!

I have 4 young children that I also homeschool. There are times in the day that all 4 of them are vocalizing their needs from me. I love their voices, but there's something wrong with me that the intensity of the volume is overwhelming. These earplugs help. I can still hear them and talk is clear, but the intensity of the noise is brought down to a manageable level. I don't love that I can hear my own voice when I talk but it's worth it all the same. I also am married to a man who loves sports. During games, I get overstimulated with the constant speaking of the commentators and background noise. I used to always leave the room during games. Now I don't feel that strong of an urge to leave and I can stay and enjoy his company. The carrying case is so cute. I like that there's size options of ear tips. Bought these for my son for a concert. Did not realize until he went to register them that there was another design specially for concerts. Anyway he needed something. My son is 24 and he’s struggled with sensitive hearing since he was a child which has impacted him socially and limited life experiences dramatically. When he was younger we thought it was something he would grow out of or that he was exaggerating. But he never did and the problem only got bigger until we found these. He was able to wear these to a concert and he was only a few rows from the stage. He also wasn’t self conscience of their appearance and they fit comfortably. He couldn’t believe that they worked but also they don’t drown out all noise just some. Absolutely worth every penny to be able to have him participate in louder activities. It sounds silly but these gave him his life back and empowered him. If the company were to shutdown I’d buy a million of them that’s how important and effective these are. ... show more

    • They’re not for everyone

My overall thoughts: this is that it’s not for everyone. (+) They are stylish, block out a lot of noise, and are very discreet. (-) The cons are that I could not tell the volume of my own voice. I could hear myself, chewing, yawning, and Grinding my teeth. I think these loops will work for a lot of people. They just weren’t for me. I am on the autism spectrum and I have some sensory issues. I first used these at home to see how clear they are without noise surrounding me. I didn’t feel much of a difference than I would with regular earplugs. However, these are the most comfortable earplugs that I have worn and when walking around, they were pretty discreet, and I was told that you can’t see them at all unless you are really looking. I have a lot of piercings and a piercing which fit comfortably in my ear as well. At first, I was concerned that I had the wrong size of earplugs in. I was using a small and went down to an extra small. When I changed the size, I didn’t feel like my ears were plugged as much or suctioned. The hustle and bustle around me was quite muted. We went into a busy restaurant and also walked around near a highway and railroad track. I felt like that helped however, I could hear myself chew, I wasn’t able to adjust my volume to the volume around me. I also could not tell how loud or quiet I was. Which I feel is pretty typical with even regular headphones or earplugs however, if I’m wearing this for an extended period of time, I don’t want to either be speaking too loud, or be speaking where people cannot hear me. My people couldn’t hear me because I felt like I was being too loud. When in reality I was speaking very quietly in a crowded space. I could hear my own voice clearly and it was kind of weird. I don’t think I can adjust to that. I tried putting my finger over the loop as it was in my ear and it Did sound different than if I was not touching the loop. Sometimes it sounded like there was white noise. All in all, these are not bad. But I sort of think that they are overhyped because they look good. Don’t get me wrong. I love the look! And I think this will work for some people. I would like to try out the other types to see if it makes a difference. However, this one seemed like it was the most affordable price for me so I went with it. The case it came with, and the plugs themselves are very durable. ... show more
