This is quite comfortable to wear. Especially with the buckle I can wear across my chest, it helps reduce the weight of the backpack + cat while walking. I think it's definitely worth the cost compared to the other cat backpacks I've tried out. This one has more ventilation, space, and even a better view of the outside. There is a leash in the bag for the collar. I do not use that as it's quite restricting and I don't feel comfortable connecting it to my pet. I don't want them hurting themselves as they try to move around/readjust how they are sitting or laying. The main con is that while I'm walking/speed walking, depending on where your cat is sitting, the weight will shift causing the bottom of the bag to fold up. This makes it very uncomfortable for your cat. If this happens, you can fix it. However, keeping a blanket on the bottom can help for cushioning. ... show more

Extremely Impressed, with this knapsack cat carrier. I purchased the one that opens up to give more play room when on the floor. I got it for my kitten and had it on the floor as a play pen with kitty toys. He ran in and out and plays in the screening portion. He even uses it as a safe hiding place. He took to it immediately. Even when I carry him to get supplies or to the vet. Very comfortable to walk around in. Expect a lot of people to approach you when wearing it. There are only two negatives: it is Warm and Bouncy for the cat. I would not recommend it for hiking in summer. It absorbs the heat and sunlight. It is way to hot for your cat or dog. I would be concerned they would overheat quickly. But other than that it is a great buy and unique. ... show more

Although my cat enjoys being outdoors from time to time, he didn't seem to be interested at all in this backpack. Even though I got the one that expands from the back, creating a bigger space for him, but still. No assembly needed. The front of the backpack came with a film on. The backpack is much easier for me to carry when going to grooming or vet appointments; better than the regular carriers. My cat is about 13 pounds. He fits just right in there. I wouldn't suggest this size for bigger cats. The front of the backpack can be easily scratched. I typically carry the backpack on the front instead of back which allows me to easily reach out to the side zipper and pet him as I'm walking to calm him down.
