It’s a good product

  • They work great, but...
Style: Panel
The radio works once it is set up. Feels realistic enough. Although it takes a bit to set it up, as they aren't simply plug and play, or at least wasn't for me. There's an apparent communication issue when combining all 3 logitech radio/switch panels, and using the Logitech plugin didn't seem to help me, nor others from my reading about it. It seems that Spadnext is the way to go when using all 3 of the Logitech panels. It runs in tandem with the simulator, and has a ghost mode to allow you to test buttons and functions. The directions radio comes with doesn't seem to help much. ... show more

  • Great Radio Panel!
Style: Panel
I bought two of these for my flight simulator setup. They work great! Very sturdy. Nice big displays. Lots of radio tuning options with these radio panels. They mounted easily to my Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo units. One one of the radio panels I did discover one of the LEDs burned out after not even a month. I contacted Logitech support via email. In a very timely manner they sent me a replacement radio panel, a brand new one, very quickly. It's working perfectly. Their tech support did a great job in my situation. I highly recommend these panels for any serious flight simmer. ... show more

  • Solid unit for flight simulation, works with X-plane 11 and other flight sims, not copy exactly of layout of real GA radios
Style: Panel
It is a very good and useful flight control for flight simulators. I've been using Air Manager on touch screen. It works fine, but rotating knobs on touch screen is a little bit of a pain. Hadware knobs is a big step forward. The unit came very nicely packaged, in a double box. It contains two parts, the unit itself which is quite thin and can be attached with screws to home made vertical panels, and a separate bracket for attaching the unit to a horizontal (such as desk) or vertical surface. Mounting screws are included. Also, sticky velcro pads are offered as a mounting option option. Unlike many yokes and rudder pedals, X-plane 11 does not natively recognize this panel. You have to go to Logitech web site and download the current driver. "Logitech flight radio panel support" would be a good search string to quickly find what you need. Logitech offers drivers for X-plane 11, Prepar3D v.3 and v4, and older simulators. Installation of drivers is quick and simple. After that, the panel automatically links to X-plane (I use 11.21) without any additional configuration needed. The unit connects to a computer via a USB 2 cable. If you use several panels, a USB hub with external power supply could be a good idea. Note that display does not light up when you connect the unit to the USB port. It lights up only after you install drivers and start your flight simulator. In aviation, frequencies go with a step of 25 kHz. Since there are only two digits after the decimal comma on airplane radios, each step in rotation of the knob changes the frequency by 0.025 MHz, but you see steps of 0.02 followed by 0.03 and back to 0.02. This is not a fault of the device, it is a rounding error and a correct representation of airplane radios. Saitek lists the following specifications for the unit: Flight Radio Panel: Length: 11 in (28.2 cm) Width: 2.2 in (5.5 cm) Height: 3.3 in (8.4 cm) Weight (w/o bracket): 14.8 oz (419 g) Weight: 1.3 lbs (599 g) Cable Length (Power/Charging): 5.9 ft (1.8 m) Flight Radio Bracket: Length: 11 in (28.2 cm) Width: 3.2 in (8 cm) Height: 3.2 in (8 cm) Now, first impressions. CONS. Layout of the radios is different from layout of radios which one finds in GA planes. I cannot quite understand why Saitek did not copy the design of actual radios. This does not interfere with the operation of the unit, but create wrong muscle memory when one uses this controller and radio in a real plane. PROs: Mechanical knobs and buttons are much easier to use than those on touchscreen, and incredibly easier than to use a mouse (which hopefully noone does). This is pretty much the only stand alone radio unit for flight simulation available on the market. A few older Saitek units (e.g., vernier throttle unit) were discontinued a few years back, and used units sell on auction site for triple the original price. If you are serious about flight simulation, get them as long they are available. NEUTRAL: to create a realistic flight panel which matches that of a GA aircraft, you need TWO of these units. So consider doubling the cost :) It is particularly useful when X-plane is used with one of the services where one can talk to ATC, and needs to often switch frequencies. Real knobs make this task much easier than on a touch screen. ... show more

  • Sturdy great sounds
Style: Panel
The switches sound amazing. I've said this in every review of these Logitech panels. I'm not joking, the switches sound amazing! only one small complaint about the frequency knob. They don't have a defined stopping point. so when you need that .05 you have to turn past, then slowly turn into it. takes a quarter second longer than I want. However, that is the only complaint I have. Good product :) ... show more

  • Do not plug in prior to reading instructions in box!
Style: Panel
I bought this to use with X Plane 11 and it works great. Will come in handy during online events without having to look down at com panel on pc monitor. Follow directions in the box. If you see a quick light up during pc startup thats normal. When you open xplane and load an aircraft, it will detect and numbers should show. If not simply unplug and replug the usb for pc to redetect the radio panel. You should only have to do this once after loading a flight and you are sitting on the ground. Would highly recommend to serious simmers. ... show more
