This is a premium grease gun that is well built and worth every penny! I bought one of the lock-n-lube tips first for an older gun. It works so good that when I needed to get another gun to carry on the road in my RV I decided to buy this set. It is fantastic! I really like the way the tip locks onto the gun for storage / carrying. The lock-n-lube tip locks and seals onto the zerk so well that you can use both hands to pump instead of trying to hold the tip on the zerk with one hand and pump with one hand.     • The Joy of a Quality Tool!
For 11 years, I have been greasing my tractor with a crummy grease gun for which I paid about $18. After marginal performance for years, it finally gave out last week. I ordered the LokNLube and just used it for the first time this afternoon. What a joy! The coupling tightly grip the grease fittings, and grease goes into joints rather than oozing around. With just one or two pumps, I saw fresh grease coming out of the joints. My old gun took 10 or 12 pumps to do this (while it worked). This tool is quite a bit more expensive than the many cheap grease guns on Amazon, but it is much more sturdily built and has a quality feel. (Owning cheap tools guarantees frustration, and what should be a 5 minutes job can turn into an hour as you fight with a piece of junk.) So happy I bought the LockNLube - I never owned a good grease gun before, and I no longer need to dread greasing my tractor. I am as happy as a kid with a new toy! ... show more

The main feature of this grease gun is that the tip is able to lock onto a grease fitting. This feature worked flawlessly when I was able to fully engage each grease fitting. The grease did not spurt out due to a bad connection. The little lever on the tip is first depressed thereby opening up the jaws of the hose tip. Next the little lever is released as soon as the grease fitting jaws are engaged to the grease fitting. The jaws work well like a pit bull on a deflated basketball. The pumping mechanism was flawless in the amount of grease delivered and the ease of the handle pumping action. The fact that the tip locks onto each grease fitting means that the hand a person normally uses to hold the tip of a grease gun during the pumping action is freed up to be useful elsewhere. Just depress the little lever again to unlock the jaws and remove the grease gun. The only reason I did not give this grease gun a 5 is that the tip, which has the little lever, will not fit in as many places as a grease gun that has a straight tip with no lever. Simply put, the lever that operates the grab jaws takes up a little bit of space. However, there are ways to work around the occasional grease fitting not able to be serviced. For instance, on my lawn tractor a particular fitting was playing hard to get. My remedy was to buy a 90 degree fitting which worked well with the LockNLube grease gun. The grease gun itself was of high quality. The place to hook the jaws for storage allows the hose to form a loop which is nice for carrying--or hanging on a nail. The storage connection also seems to stop any unwanted grease flow. I recommend this grease gun with the slight caution that special hardware may be needed to get onto an estimated 5 percent of grease fittings onto which this grease gun will not lock properly. Appears to be very well made grease gun. Extension hose is labeled Made in Germany which was a pleasant surprise! Lock and Lube fitting works flawlessly and comes with a rebuild kit which was also surprising. I’m rarely impressed with most products I buy because there’s so much “throwaway” garbage being produced nowadays. I’d definitely buy this again. Update... My lock and lube fitting didn’t work so well 2nd time I used it. Grease wasn’t going into fitting, it was just oozing out and making a mess just like the old style couplers. I called lock and lube and a nice fellow named Alex helped me out. The “claw” that grabs the grease fitting is supposed to expand once the coupler lever is squeezed. Mine wasn’t. He said he’d send me a free rebuild kit in the mail. I think that the grease I was using was extra thick (and cold too) and preventing the claw from spreading. I’ve learned to squeeze the coupler lever with one hand and use the tip of my finger to spread the claw out before attaching coupler to grease fitting. Works great again! Sounds funny to get excited about a grease gun, right? Not to me! I hate grease guns because they leak, they are messy and they make a mess of everything around them. I can’t count how many grease guns I have bought, used once and threw them away. Not anymore. The Lock n Lube gun is a well designed and built grease gun. You can tell as soon as you pick it up is a very well built grease gun. The manufacturer put a lot of thought into this gun. It has a very stout barrel, beefy handle, professional grade hose, bleeder valve and best of all the quick release coupler. I am very pleased with the way this gun works too. I greased every grease zerk I could find around my house! Update: I have a heavy driveway gate with hinges that need grease. I tried to use this gun to grease the hinges. The grease would NOT pump grease into the hinges! It apparently built up pressure in the hose. When I saw no grease was going into the fitting I took snap lock off and grease blew out everywhere! All over me and the gate post. Another grease gun into the trash! ... show more

Bought a used piece of equipment, many times when owner fails to grease unit it is very Difficult to grease. Coupler on gun worked great but most impressive was the grease gun We were sure pump handle would bend with the force we applied. Worked great, I love my new grease gun
