I really like this, but if you have arthritis or weak arms, it might not be the umbrella for you. It’s very easy to open (powerful), but very hard to close. Also: the first time I tried to carry it by the cord, the cord just fell out. I drilled a second hole and threaded the cord through both holes with a tapestry needle, then sewed it up. The media could not be loaded. I LOVE this umbrella! I know, I know, one umbrella is just like any other umbrellas… WRONG! 😊 This one looks good, it’s your standard umbrella black on top, but underneath and the cover are this very nice stylish, plaid, and I like plaid. Then there’s the working mechanism. One touch of the button and it opens smoothly, not real fast! I’ve almost put people’s eyes out (not to mention my own) with an umbrella that “shoots” open with the tiniest bit of pressure on the button. It’s also a good sized umbrella, it blocks you from any angle depending on how you hold it, and there’s room for a friend too! While I appreciate an umbrella that closes easily, this one does take a small bit of effort (not too much) to close it. But, there’s no thin piece of metal to push in, while pulling down the metal rod. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve pinched my self on that little piece of metal. Instead, to close this umbrella, all you do is pull the grip from the top of the inside center rod. See photo. So, If you’re in the market for a good, stylish, well made umbrella I recommend you give this one a try, I don’t think you be disappointed ! ... show more

I bought this for my roommate but might be getting one for myself! Way sturdier compared to other cheap umbrellas I've gotten in the past. Although, a little tough to close (you gotta push from the middle of the top and the bottom together). All in all, worth it. The design on the inside is super blurry and blown out, which was really disappointing. It's also very flimsy and has turned outside multiple times because of the slightest breeze. It also really doesn't like closing for some reason. I haven't used it very much (maybe once or twice a month, if that), but one of the "arms" has already broken and the little metal threads (or whatever they are) that they're made of get everywhere and hurt to the touch so trying to fix it isn't really an option.
