  • Great collection with great advice, in an easy to read conversational style
I really like this book, and have been learning a lot from it. The format of this book, which is separated into short (7-10 page) interviews make it really easy to pick it up, and read a random chapter. The content of the book is excellent, I found the conversations were concise, and easy to follow. There are so many different tips and tricks sprinkled throughout. I learned practical tips (ideas about tools, or books I wasn't aware of), and a ton of career advice (how to avoid burnout, how to keep current with technology, how to decide when is the right time to go into management, etc). Full disclosure: I was interviewed in this book, and I know many of the people in this book personally. I found the conversations Enrique included in this book really capture the essence of the person. ... show more

  • In-depth Experiences, tips and tricks from experts
This book is an amazing read that spans across any beginner, junior developer, manager, and entrepreneur. I really love the experience each of the experts/influencers shared. Lots of the stories, tips and tricks hit home for me. This gave me validation that i was on the right track! It is nice to see the experts in the field reading the same things. It is also nice to see the experts in our fields aren't robots. They may seem pro almost intimidating on stage... but I like how the book brings out the humanity and emotional side of developers and leaders in our industry. This books gives me the motivation that I can do this too! The experts went through the same kind of emotions, the same processes that you did too! There's no silver bullet on anyones journey, sometimes you need to take a leap of faith and just try something new, or do it! Everyone in the book worked hard to get to where they are today and it was really cool to see how they felt, and how they got to where they are today. I also enjoy the small chapter snippets that kickstart a specific topic like how to start android, how to run a company, what makes a good manager, how to build a culture around work. These experiences will probably serve as blueprints, the tips and tricks I will reference when I need some guidance! ... show more

  • This is a fantastic read!
I really like the style of the book - it’s conversational and in this way really easy to read. I like how this book is about developers and their careers in the tech industry but it’s applicable on all levels - everyone can learn and take inspiration from this - it’s universal.
