  • Great addition to my Little Giant Leveler Ladder
Style: Ladder
The Little Giant Ladder Wing Span/Wall Standoff was easy to install and worked very well. I purchased this item so that my ladder would not be leaning on my gutters and potentially damage them when I was cleaning them and to provide stability when washing the exterior of windows. I was extremely pleased with the ease of installation and the stability of the ladder once the standoff was installed. You do need to ensure the standoff is oriented correctly so the rubber pads rest completely flat against the side of the house. I would definitely recommend this item based upon my experience. ... show more

  • Little Giant product will fit Gorilla ladder
Style: Ladder
I have a Gorilla ladder, they do not make a standoff. The Little Giant standoff can be modified to fit the Gorilla. Another reviewer took the approach of widening the mouth of the bracket itself. I’m thinking he may have been modifying for another model of Gorilla ladder. I am sure that the ease of installation rating when installing on the Little Giant would be 5 stars. Due to slight modifications, for the Gorilla ladder, I give it 4 stars The Little Giant standoff as received has a large butterfly handled screw that tightens into the bottom of the rung easily for the ladder it was designed for. The modification that must be made is to allow the clasp plus screw to clear the step rung support (the flat bar, in picture two it is the one with some white paint drip on it). The butterfly screw is too long and no matter how one tries it can’t clear that flat bar. I put the block attached to the screw that is through the clasp in a vise then backed out the screw using a vise grip so that the block separated from the butterfly screw, It takes some effort but ultimately the cold headed end of the screw will collapse, freeing up the butterfly screw from the clasp. I bought a thumbscrew (3/8 x 16 x 1) and threaded it back through the clasp. The block, which is now free, has a countersink which should be the side facing the thumb screw. As you tighten up the thumbscrew., the end of the screw will be encircled by that countersink. I finger tightened, then with the vise grip, gave the thumbscrew an extra 1/4 turn to snug it up against the flat backside of the ladder rung. Like with the installation of this standoff on the Little Giant the Gorilla ladder will not collapse fully but will be extended by one rung as the standoff will not clear to the fully closed position. I attached the standoff bars and tested the standoff with the minimal ladder extension. It is quite solid and I have no concerns about the robustness of the installation. I will leave the standoff bracket on the ladder and just store it one rung longer than the standard storage length. If you’ve been doing ladder work particularly as you get to full extension without a standoff, you will immediately appreciate how much more confident you will feel when operating at longer ladder extensions. As this is a modification for a ladder not intended in the design, proceed at your own discretion to determine your confidence in the modified installation. This is definitely a quality product, very well designed and strong. ... show more

  • Long Wait
Style: Ladder
The stabilizer bar is well made for safety and durability however one of the stabilizing rails had to be driven into place with a plastic mallet and WD-40 to get it into position for the button to pop up and lock in. The tolerance was a little off in the manufacturing. The other support arm went in without issue. ... show more

  • Just what I needed no long worry about damage to gutters
Style: Ladder
I got these because normally now whenever I need to access my roof I would have to put the ladder either in an A configuration which doesn't give me much height and harder to get on the roof or I would have to lay my ladder straight leaning on my gutters which I worry may bend or damage them. This ladder accessory came with a great sale price and easy to put on my current ladder. Putting them on can be either tilt up or down depending on how you do it but after putting it on, it gave my ladder a way to put in on the roof withing touching the gutters! This is what I needed! It feels even more secure as it is wider and lets me rest it straight on the roof. Lets me climb onto the roof with more confidence and easy to get in and out. ... show more

  • Great Product & Fits Gorilla Ladder Perfectly!
Style: Ladder
I purchased this ladder stabilizer a few days ago and had a chance to try it out yesterday on my Gorilla ladder. For those of you who don’t know, the Gorilla ladder is basically a clone of the Little Giant ladder, but is less expensive. This ladder stabilizer fit it like a glove and worked perfectly! The stabilizer is very heavy duty & surprisingly sturdy, but does add a bit of weight to the top of the ladder making it a little harder to raise up if you are an older senior citizen like me. It is well worth the extra effort as I have never felt more secure & safer on a ladder then I did yesterday using this great device. One important thing to be aware of is that it is actually like having two stabilizers in one. If you mount the stabilizer to the ladder with the LABEL on the center piece facing normally, the standoff is at the correct angle to hold the ladder against the side wall of the house. If you mount the stabilizer to the ladder with the LABEL on the center piece facing UPSIDE DOWN, it changes the angle of the standoffs and worked perfectly resting on the roof of my house without rubbing against the gutters. What more could you ask for at a $40.00 price point! ... show more

  • Works as advertised but very heavy!
Style: Ladder
I like that this product is able to keep your ladder off of the wall or away from the gutters. It also helped me do some overhead wiring on a chandelier fixture inside my house, that was several feet away from the wall and about 16’ high. Although this works as intended, it makes the top of the ladder extremely heavy while in use. The ladder becomes harder to raise and lower due to added weight. On lowering, I injured my thumb (user error) by trying to lower the ladder by unlocking clamps instead of walking it down (because of limited space in my interior) and then collapsing. ... show more
