Description

Chain chomps are common enemies in the Mario series. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. Chain chomps bear a resemblance to a ball and chain and are typified by their large, tooth-filled maws and incessant biting. Shigeru Miyamoto's inspiration for the chain chomps was from a childhood experience: a dog once ran up to him and tried to bite him, but the dog's chain held it back.

I got this for my 5 year old. He loves his chain chomp, which we named Metallidog. He plays with it nearly every day. The overall design is nice. It matches the look from the games. The build is also well done overall. It's got a nice round shape, clean sewing on the eyes and teeth. The colors are spot on. The only drawback is the chain itself. It's fairly thin and will probably break one day. It seems to be a couple layers of felt stitched around maybe cardboard or some thick material. It's already kinked in a couple key spots. Thankfully my son plays gently with it, but I could see younger kids whipping it around and snapping it. Definitely want to keep it away from a dog too. :) ... show more

This is a really nice quality plush for the price. Got the Mario and the Goomba from the same seller and they are both really nice as well. Super soft... Looks like something you could buy from a shop in Akihabara, Tokyo. Definitely not a knock off product!

Any Mario fan will love this small Chain Chomp plush. I will say it is on the small side but the dimensions are listed so this did not come as a shock. I will also say that this plush is not very soft or squeezable. It is hard, but it is not a typical stuffed animal. Definitely more of a collector's item. Overall I highly recommend this product and feel many will be satisfied as long as you know what you are ordering. ... show more
