  • Perfect replacement
My 12 year old Travel Trailer slide out guid finally broke. In the past I was able to piece it together. Lippert makes a lot of items for my trailer. This was a perfect fit and size. Note: I found a great video from Etrailer on replacing this and even though it’s only about a 15 to 20 min job, the guy on etrailer had perfect idea. Ready? Use the existing square guides they already have your wire/ cable through it and mine were in great shape. This way I did not have to go into junction box. And I did not want to cut a slit in them. The current square guides slid right off and on the new strap. They give you additional guide., the drop down bar( that I did not need to use)and several self tapping screws. I did change the angle attachment of strap that attached to slide out because the builder had mine twisted putting pressure on the end. This strap has a natural curve. I had my wife close the slide so I could make sure I was not hitting anything when it closed. This is 15 min job and they trailer repair company wanted $180 to do this. Oy Again perfect fit… ... show more

  • It will require a bit of ingenuity
I purchased this for my 5th wheel. I read reviews about it claiming that it was a crappy design. I had some words for it and Lippert myself, but I did a work around that turned out ok and eliminated the issue from my perspective. First of all they rolled it the wrong way as far as I am concerned I had to take my heat gun to it which worked out nicely. Secondly and most importantly the flat pieces with the holes for the cables...…. I guess Lippert is looking at it from a redo it like factory perspective but most people don't want to get into unhooking and re-hooking all the wires and cables that run through these plastic pieces. And if you haven't been to a dealer lately, I have...$200 pr. hr. shop rate! I had to use my side cutters and cut the cable holders so that I could get all of them into the right place, because I too was not going to unhook a dozen cables. I think Lippert could improve on the design! That being said I still had my old cable holders that were broken on the back side where they slide onto the new belt. After a couple failed attempts I realized that I could use the old holders. I used my band saw, but it probably could be done with a razor knife, and I cut the outside edge of the holder wide enough to drill a small hole in each corner, approx 1/2" wide. I then held it up the the new holders that I unfortunately had to cut to get the cables into the holes. I then drilled through my pilot hole and into the new holders. The piece I installed from the old holders had some of the arc of the hole for the cables so it really worked perfectly. I then riveted the new pieces onto the new holders and voila!!! Problem solved. Now the cables wont come out of the holders. ... show more

  • OEM replacement
Great replacement for original equipment. Adjustable length. Unless you remove the electrical wiring you will have to cut the circles to get the wiring inside and then glue them. Seem to be holding up well.

  • Great Replacement
Purchased this to replace a worn and cracked component. The install was easy as the LP Gas line on the slide had a quick disconnect. That allows you to feed the line to be supported thru the holes. If what you are replacing can not be disconnected from the trailer (electrical lines) you will have to make some cuts to feed the lines into the holes in the support system. ... show more

  • Exactly like the original one on my trailer.
Great product, exactly like the one I had. Would love to see the cable holders designed differently for earlier installation. Slotted pieces would be easier to put the cable through. Like cut always in the pieces.

  • Check length of old one
Since I didn't know what the part was called the old broken one was on Since 2006. Then I got tired of it hanging and maybe breaking the cables I started searching found this part there are several on Amazon so I picked one. when I got it wasn't sure the length was long enough. I just put it on and I used the old bracket and slides you don't have to cut wires or cables. Take the old slides off and slide them on the new plastic strap you can then use the old bracket slide the strap on use the new clamp they give you to hold it on the bracket. Make sure you get the right length if my slide was just a little further out it wouldn't work. Then you would be upset because getting under the slide is the hardest part . So to get down there and not have the right length would suck it would be my fault I still wouldn't be a happy camper. It is the exact part that was on there. ... show more

  • The design is flawed.
I finally found it! I had no idea what this thing was called but after a lot of name calling, here it is! This item is a direct replacement for the original and just as another review states, I had to cut each of the loops to get the wires through them but then all that needs to be done is wire tie them to each other between each of the wire keeper assemblies to keep them in place and still allow for some movement as you open and close the slide. Now my only problem with this item is the reason that I have to replace it in the first place. My father bought his very high end 5th wheel a little over a year ago. It was brand new when he got it and while vacationing with him over the summer, I noticed that even his wire guide is beginning to break at the same spot. It has a dynamic mount on one side and a static mount on the other. That static mount is where they break and where this new one will break again in the future. It is a designe flaw that I have a quick easy remedy for. All that you have to do is leave the existing swivel mount in place and cut the existing, broken guide about 6" from the swivel mount. Then over lap the static end of the new one with the existing guide that you have cut. Make it about a 4" overlap and using a few machine screws and nuts attach them to each other. Then mount the new bracket to the end where the original static end was attached and the weak link is gone! You may never have to worry about this thing again! ... show more
