This light looks great and is an excellent value. Assembly is a bit inconvenient because the little nuts are very unforgiving and will cross-thread if you're not careful (make sure you keep them the right way up) and you have to tighten them down a pretty good amount so the arms don't move around too much. Also, once you get all the wires fixed together, it gets pretty tight inside the base, and getting everything to sandwich together and the bolts to stick through to put the final nuts onto is unpleasant. Not difficult or anything, just awkward. I highly recommend having a second person up on a ladder with you to support the light, it will be infinitely easier that way. I used some GE LED lights with it, and it looks amazing and gives my office a nice wide, warm light. ... show more

I'm not sure if the manufacturer changed the prewire on thr arms or not, but it only took me an hour to assemble and install. (This even while watching football and drinking wine.) Words of advice: you will need a 9/16 box wrench. Helpful to also have electrical tape and 2 larger wire nuts than what they give you for the tying of all the wires together. The diagram (pictured) for assembly is a little flawed as this is actually the view from the top down, not looking up at it. ... show more

Overall, this is a beautiful fixture. However, putting it together and installing it was very difficult. The fixture comes in pieces so you have to put the entire thing together, which wasn’t the hard part. The instructions that were sent was just a small 4x5 piece of paper with 2 pictures on it. The first picture has all the pieces of the fixture labeled with letters so you know which piece goes where. But the pieces of the fixture itself are not labeled, so you still have to figure out which piece goes with what letter (which kinda makes the idea of the letter labels useless). Once you have the fixture put together, there are several wires that need to be arranged. The second picture on the instructions is showing you how to put those together, but that picture is very vague and doesn’t explain anything. My husband had to get on YouTube to find a video for a similar fixture to figure out how to get it all wired. Once he got that figured out, it was time to install. We had a difficult time tucking all those wires up into the ceiling and then getting it fixed into place. I would say the entire process from start to finish took us 3 1/2 hours. The fixture looks great and we're super happy with it. Definitely get ready for your shoulders to feel the burn for install cause that plate takes a bit to get aligned the right way while you're holding it. Great for the price though. Thanks!

Ultimately the light is ok, flimsy, not all the pieces were included. I like it better than my previous out-dated light fixture. The pieces were just thrown in the box luckily i had spare screws. Great light bad packaging, maybe whoever dealt with this was having a bad day.

ugh it's now 10 bucks cheaper. Any who! it was a bit of a pain to put together, made my fingers sore twisting the bolts or is it a nut? any who! then to put it up i had to macgyvera a bracket to bracket to get it to line up straight with the ceiling and not off to the side if i aligned it with the ceiling box. provides a lot of light, which is so amazing and perfect! i put in a dimmer and it could not love it more. just was pain to put up. i also bought the 4 light for my laundry room, not sure who that is by but i'll write a review. ... show more

The screws that come with it are too short. There are no cap screws to attach the fixture to the bracket. Waste of money.

    • Caps too small!

First of all— I don’t mind assembly. That was fine. But the wires, all 8 of them are cut too short as they arrived to make a good connection. I exposed a bit more wire to make the connection easier. Still, the caps that were included in my set up were too small to accommodate the bulk of all the wires snd one would keep pulling out with the challenges of mounting that others mentioned. I enlisted the help of my neighbor and even with taping, it appears that a wire ‘escaped’ the capped and taped connection. Not knowing this, I installed $25 dollars worth of decorative bulbs and flipped the switch only to have a spectacular blow out that fried one of the sockets and all but one of my bulbs. Now I need to have an electrician come in to make sure the surge didn’t fry anything else. I’m out all the bulbs and that money, too. Returning the light. It would have been easily fixed by including caps that are a bit lager and having the connection wires a bit longer— and I’m wishing I had some larger caps on hand instead of trying to make what was sent work.
