Installation went smoothly on my ender 3v2. However: 1) there were no directions. 2)Had to file down a piece of my x axis belt tensioner (plastic piece)to make it fit into the end of the 2020 extrusion correctly 3) the rails add about 6mm to the x axis width, making the print head not auto home inside the bed print area. I am guessing I can drill extra bed holes to fix this issue. The picture I attached is of the black knight kit, not this one. I recommend the black knight kit if you've got a 3v2. Otherwise, this kit is decent but it caused me a bit of a headache trying to figure it out on my own. ... show more

    • Rails are too short for a CR-10/10S

Kit may work for an Ender 3D printer but no for a CR-10/10S, Rails are only 350mm. You need 500mm for a CR-10/10S and there's no instructions included. Everything else is as pictured.

Terrible kit.. doesnt come with instructions and not only is it missing bearings for the slides but the just keep randomly falling out even after beings installed.. already lost 4 of the smallest balls I've ever seen

    • Everything I needed to switch to linear rails for the Z axis. Included rails are decent.
I converted my Ender 3 to linear rails completely. This kit converted the Z axis. It worked pretty well. The included rails are pretty decent. There are lots of videos out there that show you how to clean them and lubricate them before installing. I take the block off, remove the bearings in a magnetic parts tray. (it is easy to lose these bearings) and clean it all with isopropyl alcohol. I soaked mine for a bit. Then I put it all back together and put a little new grease on. (I used white lithium grease but it seems like others are using super lube or slick 50) PTFE oil could work but grease lasts longer. These are not as good as the really expensive rails but they definitely work and they work pretty well. No more messing around with v slot rollers and eccentrics. I would highly recommend printing the alignment tools for the type of aluminum extrusion you are installing them on. (you want the straight) If you have a dial caliper or a regular caliper, it is nice to double check the gaps before you tighten everything down. ... show more

    • Works well, but a couple details to know
The good….Overall it’s a nicely designed upgrade, pieces were anodized nicely, very precise brackets and the rails slid nicely after cleaning off the packing stuff…. The rails were vacuum sealed in their own bag, quite a bit of fasteners left over so spares!! Installation was pretty straight forward and really makes for a solid movement free gantry..( I’m using a double z also and this worked just fine with that) The bad… no instructions at all, you’re on your own with install which wasn’t terrible if you take your time and label stuff. Also the end stop switch for your Z axis will no longer fit, so you will require a auto bed leveler, or print out a bracket to reposition it..(I’m using cr touch so no issue. The left hand plate also prevents the stock hotend assembly from hitting its limit switch, I solved this by reversing the lower guide wheel bolt so the bolt doesn’t smack the bracket before hitting the x limit switch. All in all it’s a nice setup and made the machine very solid and flex free..worked with every upgrade I’ve installed on my ender 3v2 so far. ... show more
