I have 7, 55 gallon drums of different products in my small shop. This pump works very well with oil based products. The swivel valve at the end really helps to keep the top of the drum clean. I don't use it for products like windshield washer fluid. Plastic pumps work better for that.

    • Worked decently, but loose nut detached handle and we had to repair
Worked pretty well to get drinking water out of our 55gallon barrels. Held up well in a very dusty environment (we took it to Burning Man.) Decent water volume per pump, this was a backup for an electric pump we had and was so much faster at filling containers people just switched to this. A few downsides: 1. If it hadn't been used for a while it took quite a lot of pumping to get water out - like enough people kept thinking the barrel was empty or the pump was broken when they really just needed to pump 10-15+ times to start getting water. 2. the nut holding the handle popped off and the pump was non-functional until we found the nut and reattached the handle. I'd make sure the nut is tightened when you receive the pump and periodically tighten it. Maybe also get a backup nut the same size since the one that came with it was painted a dark color and a pain to find. Once we reattached it and tightened it down it didn't come detached again and worked the rest of the week. I'd estimate we put about 150-200 gallons of water through the pump over the week and it's still going strong. ... show more

    • Buy a cheaper one!
Don’t spend your money on this, my buddy bought the cheap china one, worked perfectly! This one was double the price, leaks out the bottom seal, no parts breakdown, they want you to take to a repair center…. Well oil spill, jeans ruined, should’ve bought China! So sad I must say:(

    • Does not stay primed
After about 6 months of use the pump won't stay primed and it takes a very long time (about 40 pumps) to get ATF to finally start flowing. If it sits longer than 3 days all the fluid drains back into drum and it's back to pumping. I have 2 of these and only 1 does this.
