I’ve had a number of these cases over the years and always been very pleased, but this summer the rubber components all melted in the heat! It also smeared over the camera lens. I’m in NYS, not Florida, and I’m concerned that they’ve cheapened the quality of these rubber components. I really had I hopes for this case but within 30 days The charging port broke off so I couldn’t exchange it. Wasn’t the worst thing I could live with that. Within the next month the rubber that went around the case started to peel off, wasn’t horrible at first so I kept using the case. From there it would just keep peeling. Then the side buttons! Oh the side buttons! When you use them they will literally disappear on you . For the price of the case you would think it wouldn’t peel or look so gross! I clean my phone I have a 7 year old that uses it from time to time and little kids are nasty, I make sure to always clean my phone case. However, yes it’s a great case if you drop your phone a trillion times. My son even dropped my phone from a ride at a amusement park & it survived. LOVE THAT ABOUT THIS CASE but I am all set with a phone case that peels & leaves you with colored rubber pieces in your pocket or bag that looks so gross. I never used this case in the water even though it says it was water proof.. I really wish this phone case was made better. Please be aware if you do buy this case that your case can peel & ports & buttons can disappear. ***My case is less then 6 months old*** ... show more

I’m a lifetime smartphone Lifeproof case user. My big gripe with previous Lifeproof cases is that others couldn’t hear me with the case on. It protected me 1000 times though since I’m horrible about dropping my phone on concrete, into drinks, etc. Not being heard was a big problem with my job though, so with my new iPhone 11, I decided to try a different case. My facial recognition ended up broken and while I couldn’t see damage and it’s a known issue with 11s, I wasn’t positive it wasn’t from accumulated drops, so when Apple replaced my phone under warranty, I immediately returned to Lifeproof. First, it continues to stand up to their drop policy hands down. It’s why I keep it. Second, it’s much better on voice. No one has complained that they cannot understand me. Not as positive, however: it has the same oily look others complain about. It doesn’t bug me much, but it drives my 10 year old nuts. He constantly tells me to clean the (non-existent) grease off my case. Finally, the charging port cover wears VERY quickly. It broke after less than two months due to stress from using the charger several times in my car in a given day to use Apple Play. Another few weeks of use without the broken-off port cover resulted in the rubber wearing away just above the port on top. (See 1st & 2nd pic) I had to pay $6 for the shipping on a replacement under warranty. I put the new case on only a week ago and I already see that the port cover is going to wear out in a matter of days to weeks. (See 3rd pic) That’s a defect in my book since you have to use the port for Apple play, regular charging, and wired headphones. I guess I’ll just have to use it broken, lacking it’s waterproof feature, because I can’t pay $6 every 4-6 weeks. ... show more

    • Sturdy but the camera screen doesn't last

Case works great and is very sturdy, but the clear screen where the camera is does not last. It gets scratched up very easily and after a while, it makes all your photos blurry. I don't do anything with my phone except put it in my pocket and on my desk, so it bothers me that this case, which doesn't go anywhere, already has a ruined camera screen. Now all my photos are blurry. I took the case apart and washed the screen, wiped it with a cloth that is suitable for glass cleaning, and it has not improved. So normal wear and tear on this case is not good for people who like to take photos and have them come out nice. All my Christmas photos are fairly blurry and look like low quality and I thought it was a camera issue (checked all settings and took pics with no case), but in reality, it was because of this case. *** UPDATE *** Lifeproof has a great warranty on their products. I put in a request to have a replacement sent and it only charges for shipping, so as long as it's approved, they will replace the product. Hold on to your current one if it's defective/damaged like mine, as you may be required to return it - which is just fine with me! ... show more

This product has protected my phone for about 6 months, but now the rubbery plastic on the front is rapidly breaking down, becoming soft, and peeling off. I don’t use any harsh chemicals or fragrances, and it hasn’t been hit or scratched, so it seems like this is just a defect in the rubber/plastic that was used. I’ve had similar lifeproof cases in the past that lasted much longer and never had this problem, so they may have switched to a cheaper plastic. The rest of the case is in good shape, but this rubbery material is just disintegrating. ... show more

    • Not durable. Doesn’t remain water tight for long and plastic is easily scratched scuffed fogged.

Wish I had taken pic before boxing up for return. Second time returning. I returned the first tim since although it kept phone dry. The camera portion got foggy after normal use after 2 weeks and made it impossible to take photos which was why I bought case in first place beach and ocean adventure pics. Replaced with same item. And the tiny elastic washer that seals the charger port fell out and could not be replaced and rubber washer inside the phone became loose rendering it less water tight. Lucky I noticed it filling up w water in time to save phone. This happen again after normal use and only 2 ish weeks of use. ... show more
