  • No tree slackline installation.
Size Name: Single Color Name: Orange
I needed ground anchors for my Slackline, but have not gotten around to installing a more permanent solution yet. I've looked for anchors that can withstand the tremendous pull forces due to the tension on a slack line, and these looked like the best candidate I could find online. Some tension calculators estimate over1000lbs of tension on the line. The anchor is rated at 425lbs pull in an upward direction, as indicated by an arrow pointing away from the ground on the diagram on the product tag. (See attached photo) I used two anchors on each end of the slackline (total of 4 anchors) with the slackline pulling on each anchor at 30 degrees from horizontal. Two anchors on each side of the line are further spaced 4 feet apart with 4 feet of tow chain to the slackline. This helps to further distribute the tension on the anchors. Each 16" anchor is screwed flush into my lawn which is around 6 inches of soil/dirt with clay/rocks/gravel underneath. The slackline is about 2 feet off the ground, so if an anchor fails, I won't fall too far. Also, by using two anchors on each end, if one were to fail, the other anchor should help prevent the end of the tensioned line from shooting toward the user on the line. I'm not using this line for bouncing or jumping tricks. I'm only using it to learn to balance and walk the line. So far, so good. Everything seems pretty solid and the anchors are holding tight. I leave the anchors in the ground 24/7. I used a crowbar to screw them in. When using the slackline, the top of the anchors appear to deflect by about 1/2 inch or so, but they don't look like they will pull out of the ground, especially since the pulling force is closer to horizontal. I would rather use large trees as anchors, but since I don't have any in my yard, this serves as a pretty handy substitute! This application is probably stressing the product more than average, so use at your own risk! ... show more

  • Worked Like a Champ!
Size Name: Single Color Name: Orange
Used this as an anchor point for a guy wire for a patio lighting pole. Screwed it in the ground with a small rake handle. It went into my clay soil like a hot knife through butter--very easy! I understand why this product is "prison jump suit orange," so you don't lose it in the grass somewhere, but my application needed to be more discrete so I spray painted the top of it black. This is a solidly made product at a good price. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Works perfectly
Size Name: Single Color Name: Orange
My first attempt to drive this in the ground didn't work. I'm pretty sure it hit a rock about 8 inches down. The top would rotate, but then return to its previous position when I let off. I had doubts. Then I moved it to a second location and was able to drive it all the way in. It wasn't very easy, even when I didn't hit an obstacle, but that is due to physics, not a fault in construction. This may seem obvious, but I found it easiest to drive into the ground by sticking a large screwdriver horizontally through the top and twisting it. Oh, and it helped to add water to the soil. After getting it in the ground, I secured a cable to the top of the anchor. Even after tightening a couple of turn buckles, the anchor hasn't budged. ... show more

  • Sturdy ground anchors
Size Name: Pack of 4 Color Name: Orange
I have several sets of these. One set was used to anchor a trampoline to the ground so that thunderstorms or high wind cannot move it. These have been in use for about 7 years and the trampoline has never moved. I bought another set recently to provide a robust anchor points for a set of 1.5 inch ratchet straps being used to stabilize several 15-20 foot trees we recently transplanted. The anchors are 18” long screwed fully into the ground and they hold against significant tension applied by the ratchet straps. The anchors have stayed put for about two months now. The anchors are made of approx 5/8 inch steel with a 2 inch wide coil. Mine are 18“ long but they come in several lengths. ... show more

  • Ok for now, just hope it will stay in place
Size Name: Pack of 4 Color Name: Orange
They seem to work ok. I had to drill holes in my garbage can storage box to get them to work. I cut off a broom handle to screw them into the ground. It worked well to do it that way. Very sturdy. I hope they will hold my storage box in place. Time will tell. I will add to this review at a later date. I live in Kansas, and we get some wind. We will see if this will hold it in place. I did see a review by someone else where they recommended using a longer anchor, say 3 feet or more. I could not find a longer version of this type of anchor. 16 inches seems to be the max. 0316-23, still holding in place. Made it through many a storm, and holding my storage box in place. ... show more

  • Does the trick!
Size Name: Single Color Name: Orange
I love these ground screws!! After years of trying to drive stakes into the ground to hold up various shrubbery as they mature, these screws are the answer. Stakes bend, break, and rope tends to slip after time. These screws are the perfect remedy. They easily drive into the ground, even when that ground is hard clay, and they stay put! The eyeholes on the tops of the screws are well made and are easy to attach to. I also use them to keep various sports goals and nets in place so they don't move with windy days. ... show more

  • Dog tether anchor
Size Name: Single Color Name: Orange
Used an anchor to clip a long line and dog leash to use as a dog tether. He bag go for about 50ft in all directions. I’m not sure if I have to pull it out of the ground or not. Snow is flying. Maybe I’ll just keep it there. Super convenient to use this instead of going out on leash all the time.

  • Great product at a fraction of HD's price
Size Name: Pack of 4 Color Name: Orange
Used 4 of these with some ratchet straps to tie down my brother's basketball net. We didn't want to use sandbags or concrete blocks so we twisted these into the ground and the net is STURDY. A grown man can hang on the hoop and it does not budge at all. I weedwhack against these things and they're left out in Florida weather for about a year now and still look brand new. Very durable and doing a great job. ... show more
