Description

Perfectly balanced and affordable, the Mach I Speed Spool SLP Combo is a superior mid-priced combo. The rod is a one-piece IM8 graphite blank that sports a Winn Dri-Tac handle, Lew’s custom graphite reel seat, and guides constructed with durable stainless steel frames and aluminum oxide inserts. The reel was designed on our ever-popular SLP frame platform, which is 10% smaller than traditional speed spools. Internally the Mach I has solid brass Speed Gears and a 8-bearing system that is always smooth.

This is a great combo with a super sensitive action. This is my third bait casting combo and is by far the most sensitive. The reel is smoother and retrieve is responsive. The drag settings are quick and hold without constant adjustment.

Very, very nice and smooth combo, love it! Was afraid of shipping damage based on some other reviews but it arrived ok. Must say though it certain could have been packed a lot better. Very loose in box with no packing material at all and box was actually a little too short so rod was bent over some.

I dislike that better shipping wasn’t incorporated, this item was over a$100….the box was bent, taped whoever shipped took no precautions….the taping on the box looked like Simon ew it was broke….smh What’s next ….dayyyyuuummm 🤬😡 This rod is suppose to be high tension ,tough looks like it was literally bent in half😡 Highly disappointed….. ... show more

Just getting back to fishing, and this is my first bait caster combo since I figured out I didn't know how to use the last one about 65 years ago. How things have changed! Love to throw this thing around. Adjust the settings to the lure/bait weight, cast a few times in the yard and go fishing! This is a 7 foot one-piece rod, and the medium fast is a good all around choice. The reel is 7.1/1 ratio, and I use 8 lb braid and a fluorocarbon leader. It's the only bait caster I have right now, and is a perfect partner for my Shimano spinning rig I use for lighter baits. ... show more
