  • Time will tell...UPDATED
UPDATE: As promised, here is my update. As you can see, I increased my rating to 4 stars. This silicone works just fine. Still not a 5 for me because I feel that the price is way too high, and because of the couple things I've already stated below. It works, just not an economical choice if you are making molds for resell. I've been using silicone for years, my business is literally mold making... I've only been using professional Smooth-On products for the past several years, and so I decided to give this a shot to see if it could work for some smaller projects if I'm in a pinch and run out of my go-to silicone. First, I've noticed this product is EXTREMELY thin, which surprised me as I currently use a 10A silicone, and this product, at "supposed" 15A, is considerably thinner. This does help the product degas itself quite easily, which is nice if you don't own a pressure pot or vacuum chamber, but only if the end result is desirable. I poured a mold approx 20mm thick, using an acrylic box frame which I also coated with a thin layer of Inhibit X and mold releasing agent. As of right now, the remnant product in the mixing cup, after several hours, is still quite sticky. With my other silicone, this would have already setup much more...so I am slightly concerned as to how long this will actually take to cure. If it takes longer than the manufacturer states, then that will be the first major issue I'll have with it. A manufacturer should know, and be able to relay, accurate curing times for their product. I do not have excessive heat or cold, and environmental conditions are normal, stable, and compliant with manufacturer guidelines. The mold is thin enough to where it should only take 6-8 hours, based on prior experience working with silicone, to cure well enough to unmold. As of right now, I'm neither impressed or unimpressed, just concerned. This might be a decent silicone to use for very small craft projects, but I'm waiting to see if it can perform well enough to be used for more complex projects. I'll update my review at after I see final results. Also... no where on the package nor in the instructions does it state what this particular silicone's Shore Hardness is. It oddly enough gives a "comparison chart" for different Shore Hardness in the package insert, but nothing to indicate what this particular silicone is....a bit ridiculous. It is made in China, so I overlooked all the odd grammar and English used. I did not appreciate having to come back to Amazon to look/check for product information. An MSDS should also have been included as wasn't. I'll update shortly. ... show more

  • Very easy to use. Would recommend even to beginners!
This product was very very easy to use. I used it to make a candle mold. I put it in a tin pan. Followed the instructions and mixed the two bottles. Poured in and let set. I feel like with a lot of these products people can get overwhelmed thinking that they don’t know how to do this or that things are more difficult then they are. Give it a shot! It really is super easy to use. I wore basic latex gloves when pouring. I let it set overnight and it was done and sturdy. I would have liked there to be a little bit more however. I bought two of them just in case and needed to use them both even though my project wasn’t that big. Price is a bit of a turn off but ease of use really takes the cake! ... show more

  • Works well
It made pretty decent negative molds for me. Could be a little more elastic to make it easier to pop out resin but that's just my preference.

  • Took a bit to figure out
So I'll start by saying it seems to be working well now, but it took me a while to get there. Turns out I was running into a silicone cure inhibition problem, where the silicone was reacting poorly to different materials I was using, Such as the mold release, spray paint, clear coats, tape adhesives, resins, ect. So after figuring out what materials do and don't work, it seems to be working quite well now ... show more

  • Great for the price
I ordered this to make d&d dice molds and i had no issues with the silicone setting you just have to mix it properly. there are little to no air bubbles in the molds i made. I recommend mixing it for the 5 mins that it tells you to and then tapping your cup lightly against a hard surface to bring the bubbles up. After that i let it sit for about 3-4mins to let the bubbles float up and pop and then i poured the mixture into my mold setup. Personally i think this is a great affordable option to start out with for mold making when it comes to resin. ... show more

  • Looks Great- But Adhesive Tape Residue Stuck To It
I mixed it well (unlike- I think, some others who left bad reviews and said it was still sticky after days), and it looked great after 24 hours, but I used resin tape to keep my pieces in place and the sticky residue from the tape adhered to the surface of the cured piece. I had to look up how to safely remove the tape residue without damaging the mold (because it was great, otherwise). There's not much on how to remove that residue, or it's contradictory (rubbing alcohol, cider, you name it-- it all has elements that can damage the mold), so I'm going to have to do it again and maybe use hot glue to keep the pieces down. I gave this 4 stars on the off chance that it's the resin tape that I used and not the silicone. So just a word of caution... ... show more

  • Sets up as designed
I do not recommend using to make candle molds as the resin is a harder substance and not really flexible. But this is a great product
