this product is great. so i had a customer doing landscaping work whos swinging gate was completely pulling out the bolts in cinder blocks. so i got this gate wheel and hooked him up. new bolts in wall and tightened this wheel ontop the swinging end and now the wheel takes all weight . rolls smooth on the uneven ground . good quality product and durable so it should last a long time . easy to install and functions well. good buy for the money. ... show more

This heavy-duty gate wheel is very well-made. The wheel comes with various types of hardware for mounting to different types of gates. I mounted the one I received to a tube gate. I have been looking for a rugged gate wheel for some time. I needed one that would roll well over a roadbase driveway and one with a wheel that would rotate as it moved. This well-built gate wheel checked off all the boxes! The only thing I had to do was remount the gate to a height that would accommodate the gate wheel. I somehow missed the measurements slide when I was looking for a gate wheel for the garden gate. The listing says 8 inches, and I thought that was the height of the entire thing.... negatory. The wheel itself is 8 inches in size. This is a hefty chonker, large and heavy duty. It is a bit excessive for what I have in mind, but I can see for larger gates that it is just what would be needed for operation. ... show more

The wheel is well built and the attachment style wont allow the wheel to rotate or spin on the gate if pressure is applied downward. I used this on my gate as its a 16' gate but their is only dirt roads where i live and it does alright in the dirt. This would work great on asphalt or cement and works in the dirt but is very bumpy as its solid rubber. Overall its a good option for a wheel just not the best in dirt. ... show more

Gate wheel is very heavy duty. It is a nice wheel on a caster. It was difficult to mount on a 2inch gate. It took a hammer and persuasion to get the u joint to go on the gate.

So this is a big bad 8 inch flat free spring-loaded mofo. It was easy to install on my gate and it's easy to operate the gate with this wheel on it. The hardware looks like good quality and I expect many years of trouble-free service out of this.
