I got this so I could have a neat installation of an outside security camera. I cut a hole in the back for the for the power supply line of the camera and another in the cover with 4 holes to mount the camera. I drilled a hole through the wall for the camera's power supply for the power supply line of the camera, mounted the box over the hole with the expanding wall anchors. I mounted the camera to the cover with small bolts that came with it and plugged the male end of the power cable into the female end snaked through the wall hole. I used silicone caulk between the camera and behind the box and the wall. The excess cable was coiled in the box. The cover fit fine over the coiled wires. The assembled box was very sturdy with the included cover screws. All in all a very easy, very neat, water tight installation. ... show more

Great product, I think it would likely keep the rain out if you make sure any ports are installed correctly so puddling rain does not enter there. Seal is adequate and screws have brass inserts so they don't strip. I have no complaints, I just don't happen to like the off-white much, but for the price I'm good with it. Shipped fast, exactly as described, putting the seal in is fairly easy and they give you a few extra screws, not sure why but no complaints. Good box for what I need it for, two banks of supercapacitors for a boost box. I'd recommend it. ... show more

My use doesn't require it be weatherproof, I'm not even installing the sealing gasket, and the first thing I did was drilled a bunch of huge holes in it. So no comments about weather and water resistance! The top surface seems thick enough that I can mount big buttons to be pressed enthusiastically less than an inch apart (edge distance); we'll see how that works in real life eventually, when I finish the project and we're out of the emergency and can have in-person events again. The external is smooth and nicely made. The interior shows some tool marks, even had some machining curls of plastic in it, but nothing the slightest bit serious for the invisible interior; I just wiped it out with a damp cloth. Glad I could find a box this deep; these big buttons take 2.5" below the panel including wiring harness connectors and wire turning radius. There's a line of round raised cylinders down the sides, looks like they're intended as mounting bases for things, you could anchor screws into them without going through the bottom. The spacing isn't right for Raspberry Pi 3B boards--but they're short enough that the Pi board fits *over* them on usual standoffs, so they're not in the way, either. And for something with different mounting hole spacing, or something I could design myself to match the box, that would be a useful feature. ... show more

Arrived quickly. Had a problem, one lid screw missing. Robin from Customer Service contacted us immediately and made everything right. Have the box all set up for an RV rooftop application. Completely satisfied. Outstanding Customer Service! UPDATE: We were asked to write an additional review, so here it is. We liked the box design. The four lid screws were outside of the interior area of the box, so now water infiltration is possible via the lid screws. Additionally the lid includes a mechanical waterbarrier and an o-ring gasket. We are confident that this box is weatherproof. The box plastic is very hard, but it is a bit brittle. We were able to drill four holes through the sides of the box with an ordinary hole saw without issues. We mounted a back plane inside the box using the molded in standoff screw holes. While carefully installing three screws into the standoffs, one standoff cracked. The only other problem we had was the box arrived with one of the four lid screws missing. We went to the local hardware store and purchased 4 new stainless steel screws. The screw that was missing had damaged threads in the insert. Fortunately the hard stainless steel machine screw was able to tap through the thread damage and now works fine. We have the box installed on the roof of our live in RV and it is working fine. We are completely satisfied with the box. As I mentioned in the first review, this company contacted us right away upon seeing our review that we had some problems. They have outstanding customer service that is unmatched by any recent experience we have had with any other company. We would definitely buy from this company again.
