My grandsons', 10 and 12, are super accomplished at lego building and have been doing kits for years. I bought this one for a birthday knowing that it may be considered too babyish, but the dogs looked so cute, and my one grandson likes "cute" animals. Upon unwrapping I asked him to rate the present on a scale of 1 to10 and he gave it a 7. But as the afternoon progressed I noticed both boys, plus a friend, were making it and liking it.
