  • Saves space, great price! Nice and fluffy!
Color: 2 Pack
I mainly use coco bark/chips as an amendment in my plant soil mix, plus I plan on changing out my anole's vivarium substrate in the next few months too. In prepping the brick,I just wanted one brick to be loose enough to be able to separate it and mix some of it into my soil mix for now. Of course, all of my larger plastic bins have been used up, so the largest container I could find was a 2.8L one. to help me loosen up the block and still keep things compact. This turned out to be the perfect size for one brick! The pieces are large, nice and fluffy, with husk and the "hair" from a coconut mixed throughout. Compared to the reptile coco bark I normally get (photo of me holding some dry), they're pretty comparable in quality. The big difference I see is with Legigo, there's larger, longer pieces of bark, and slightly smaller bits to help make the mix a little fluffier. Honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised! Plus it smells so good (I'm one of those weirdoes that loves the smell of rain (petrichor). All in all, I normally I buy large bags of regular reptile coco chips /bark from the pet store, or via amazon and on average, it costs around $20-$25, for about a large 12-16 qt. bag that I have to worry about storing somewhere else. With these bricks (7qt) , it's a great price when you buy a 2 pack, but even better to get a 4 pack so I will likely get a 4 pack when I have to re-up. I'm excited to get this dried up a bit more and mixed in with my plant's substrate because I have a feeling my plants will love it. My anole hates change so she'll be mad at me for a while, but I bet she'll appreciate it! ... show more

  • Perfect for my snakes
Color: 2 Pack
I usually use the shredded coconut fibers but I thought I would give this a try and I really like these chips much better. These bricks can either be soaked or just broken apart to line the snakes tank. Because it is chunks it doesn't pack down or stick to the rodents during feeding time. It is much easier to work with and easier to clean out of the tank when it needs to be changed. This is definitely the new substrate for all of my snakes. ... show more

  • Price is a little high for two bricks but I am very satisfied with the product itself.
Color: 2 Pack
I'm using this for my "worm palace" as I am starting out with vermiculture. I received a block of coco coir with my worm palace, and used a little dirt but wanted more coir or husk for my new worm buddies. This isn't the greatest price, but you also have to factor in this is chunkier coconut husks rather than smaller pieces of coco coir. The upside to that is that expanding and breaking down takes a lot less time. My picture shows it expanded, but it probably could expand another 15-20% because the water hadn't reached everything at the top of the brick I'm not sure how it goes with reptiles but with worms you're supposed to use chlorine-free water. To be on the safe side I used distilled water. It took less water to expand and break up my two blocks of coco husk than it did to break down a similarly sized but more firmly compressed brick of coco coir. Lightly raking it into my mix of coir, dirt, worms, cardboard, grit (cornmeal), and some veggies has been easy. The only downside is the price isn't that great for 2.2 pounds but you can buy more for cheaper (and Legigo has a lot more brick options than two and four bricks if you search their name on Amazon.) If I only needed a little bit of coco husk, say for growing orchids or other air plants, then maybe I'd suggest a cheaper option. But as far as the husk chips themselves they look good and don't have any weird smells or anything. • Exactly what I expected
Color: 2 Pack
I normally get coco coir, the more soft and fibrous bedding, but decided to give the chips a try. They are the same material, but are more coarse and somewhat larger. Expanded well, had a nice assortment of small and large chips as well as some fibrous bits. Great for reptiles, birds, and some other animals. Not much else to say about this. It's coco chips for your critters. Good price, good size bricks, will definitely go a long way once expanded. ... show more

  • Excellent Soil Amendment
Color: 2 Pack
I love to add this to soil that is too rich in compost material. It helps to aerate the soil and retain moisture. It has a nice look if you dress the top of your pots with it. It's great for rabbit and reptile habitats. I will continue to purchase this as needed.

  • Great for my Columbia Red Tail Boa!
Color: 2 Pack
I got this for my redtail and it worked wonderfully, it will last for some time. She seems to enjoy lying on it with the heat lamp. It wasn't all dusty and the pieces for nice and thick and were not messy at all. It feels like the heat is better retained in the small; pieces than just the typical bedding. It retains moisture which is a huge plus. Great product and will be getting more when needed. ... show more

  • Pretty skimpy.
Color: 2 Pack
This is not very much bedding at all for the price being charged. I can get a larger amount for the same price at many garden centers. My corn snake seems indifferent to all the quality and financial jargon and concern. He really only goes in for mice.

  • Great for reptiles and moisture loving plants
Color: 2 Pack
Fluffs up and expands a lot more than you would expect after soaking for a while, and helps keep moisture up in the reptile tanks much longer than soil based substrates. A little goes a long way, and this will last for several tank changes and will keep out little guys happy and healthy.
