  • Very impressed
Installed for a new dado set, leveled off nicely with table deck using the included adjustment screws, very good quality for the price. I need to do a couple of angled dado cuts in the future so will be ordering another one of these.

  • Superior for zero clearance and use of riving knife
Tried other options and they were made of inferior products (paper board). I bought the lee for my 12" Dewalt crosscut miter saw and was very pleased so I ordered the Dewalt table saw item and am very pleased with the hard composite materials of both zero clearance plates. My concern was the riving knife and reading numerous posts on the issue problems, I purchased the MJ Splitter steel pro TK kit to get a splitter option. Well I just couldn't settle for that and spent a little time to make the Dewalt knife usable. I'm posting a few pics to show the way I did it. The over all time involved in using the saw to make the blade/knife slot longer vrs the MJ Splitter tool install was in my opinion, notably less and the results are also in my opinion, far superior. I stopped the cut short of the end of the plate to retain stability (see pics) and my max depth of cut with the riving knife is 2 5/8. For me and the job stie cabinet and case work I do, that's more than I need, ripping 2x material will be done with the factory plate... Basically I clamped a hold down piece to my fence holding the plate to the table and another piece flat on the table to keep the plate tight to the fence. Placing the already slotted plate with the rear forward and raising the blade (without the knife) all the way up, I marked where to start the rest of the cut. Lowering the blade, turn on the saw, raise the blade back up all the way so the saw blade cuts loser to 90*, I then slowly pushed the plate in further and stopped at the point seen in the pics. Done and done! much happier than adding the MJ splitter doodads. My only grief is that I was sent a black plate. Would have preferred yellow like my miter saw plate (I do make marks on my plates). I may order another and keep returning and reordering until they send me the color I want!! Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Glad I Bought 2!
First of all I need to be upfront, I am a total newbie when it comes to woodworking and table saws in general. I just bought a Dewalt DWE7491RS to start woodworking as a hobby. I quickly learned about a zero clearance insert while watching videos and such online. When I found this online and read the reviews it sounded exactly what was needed, so I ordered 2 my thinking was 1 for a zero clearance insert and the other for a dado setup should I choose later. The product felt great I was very impressed by the quality and couldn't wait to get it set up. I made sure to read the directions thoroughly and proceeded to try and set it up but, everytime I tried to move the blade up through the insert and in to the block of wood clamped to the top the blade crank would get very difficult to keep raising and would sometimes produce sparks out the back of the blade and I only was able to get it cut as far as my picture shows. i'm assuming it has something to do with the knife in back of the blade but everything I had read said it could stay on for my specific model. Just to be clear, I am not using the plastic blade guard, only the blade and the knife that came preinstalled with purchase. So for now, I've put them both away to revisit the situation at a later time, i'm not sure if I ruined this one or not but very glad I bought two with the recommendation of another reviewer commented that they do go in and out of stock. So my review is solely based on the quality feel of the product only at this time. In fact the quality maybe too good since my 60t blade didn't want to penetrate it :) ... show more

  • Love it! Works great!
Love it! Love the color, love the setup! LOVE IT! I was working with 1/2" Baltic Birch and having terrible tear out so I purchased this and a Diablo D1060X blade. These two combine made BEAUTIFUL cuts! As for fitment, it was a bit touch and go at first and took me a little longer than I expected it to take but I finally got it within 5-10mins. This was also my first time doing this so that could have been a factor. The Adjusters are Flat Head Phillips head screws, I would have preferred Hex head but that’s just my preference. I also would have preferred a physical locking mechanism in the front side instead of just a pressure fitment. There are 4 leveling screws as per the Dewalt design and then two pressure fitting screws on the front and right side of the insert. Lastly, I saw on the DW-2, there were concerns with a cutout to clear the arbor and space to put in the riving blade. There is a cutout for the arbor to clear the insert and all I had to do for the riving blade was set it on my saw blade upside down, short side towards fence, bring the fence up to it and lock it in. Then remove it, install the old insert and then the insert like a normal piece of wood until the slot extended to the end of the insert. With that, the insert fits over the riving bladed just fine. ... show more

  • Nice
It works and fits perfectly on my Dewalt table saw. like other reviews say you have to make your on riving knife cut, if you want to use it. Just be careful not to go all the way that's if you cut 3/4 inch material. Anything bigger than that you can't use the riving knife or you will have to cut all the way thru the zero insert to make it work and that compromises the integrity of the zero clearance to work properly because the adjusting screw it comes with are not that great and the snug fit is lost. Other than that it works fine. ... show more

  • Look no further - Buy this one without hesitation!
I purchased this for my Dewalt DWE-7491RS table saw and I couldn't be any more pleased! I made the big mistake of purchasing a dado throat plate from Dewalt and it was a complete waste of money. It flexed big time and ruined cut after cut. This DW-3 Zero-Clearance Dado insert from Leecraft if EVERYTHING the Dewalt one is NOT! The Leecraft is made from very high-quality materials, it is solid, and fits perfectly! The instructions that accompany this item are clear, concise, and had me up and running in no time at all. Your search is over. Just by this one and get back to making sawdust! ... show more
