This was definitely a mistake, the description says it will tan, but after doing research I realize this is not for tanning. It’s only gonna cause other problems. I should’ve googled first 😗 And to ship it back I would have to pay for postage, which is ridiculous! I think Amazon should have to Alert us to that before we place the order ... show more

Extremely small item nothing like it looks i requested a return and of course they sent me a label that you cannot translate and you have to ship back with the carrier on the label or pay yourself and you cannot tell who the carrier is supposed to be so if you dont want to lose your money dont buy.

    • Don’t be fooled.
This light is claimed to be a UV light that can tan the skin. These claims are completely false. The light consists of LED lighting, which only emit a very small amount of UVA light. UVA light mainly contributes to skin aging similar to that of the sun but significantly less. WAY less than that of the sun. Tanning is caused by both UVA & UVB Radiation Exposure to the melanin in our skin. Melanin combats exposure by producing more melanin, in turn, skin Darkens with more melanin. UVA exposure alone is not enough for tanning as it creates oxidative stress which leads to rapid darkening but redistributed, though the melanin quantity remain unchanged. (Freckles, sun spot, sunburn) Exposure to UVB light causes melanogenesis (increased production of melanin). This leads to delayed tanning and last much longer. Why sunburn last a day or so but a suntan lasts weeks. If can produce vitamin D and can have an SPF of 3. In turn UVB is also the cause of moles and skin cancer when overexposed, although not proven yet. Both are needed to tan the skin as sunburn and melanogenesis are identical mechanisms. LED cannot produce that light and this light has LED. Therefore this light cannot tan. If you want to tan by light bulbs, you need to have either fluorescent lamps, quartz halogen lamps or unshielded tungsten halogen lamps/tungsten filament incandescent lamps as they show some evidence to do so. Your best bet might be Mercury vapor & metal halide bulbs, they have visible light, heat, and both UVB+UVA radiation light. This product will not tan you. ... show more
