It’s hard to tell for sure but it seems to work well and help my melon plants grow! I like that it’s a multipurpose blend. The bottle will last me a while since it’s concentrated. No complaints!

    • Didn't help my watermelon growth
I had high hopes for the watermelon fertilizer since that is all my husband was looking forward to from the garden this year. I used the leaves and soul watermelon fertilizer over the period of 8 weeks into my garden until the bottle was empty, the growth was so slow and it was apparent. Initially we added fresh topsoil with manure and then started using the fertilizer in the area where i was planting. After the watermelon had a huge stagnant growth I knew that there was something wrong because the same thing was happening with my pumpkins and zucchini which I also used the Leaves and Soul product for those vegetables. Plenty of sunlight, the right amount of water and adding fertilizer to help give the right balance of food and still stagnant growth. We also added new top soil with manure and mixed the garden before planting so it was fresh. As of week 7 my watermelon was just starting to vine out, but very slow without change. So I am 9 weeks into planting, 8 weeks into the seeds germinating and coming out of the ground and my watermelon was just starting to grow. I ended up going out and buying another fertilizer that works for all and within 6 days it is growing like crazy. I love that it is made in America, but disappointed that it didn't do much of anything for my watermelon. I am giving this one a 3 star instead of the 2 I gave on the pumpkin version because the growth was a little bit more, but still not great. ... show more

I got this specifically for my watermelon plants seeing the picture on the front of the bottle and seeing it was specifically marketed for watermelons. I didn't know about what a 5-1-5 fertilizer meant, so I looked it up. A 5-1-5 fertilizer means that it is balanced and has 5% nitrogen, 1% phosphorus, 5% potassium. Sometimes you see it as NPK ratio instead of the numbers. But that is what the codes mean. When doing further research, this 5-1-5 fertilizer is good for a lot of different garden veggies like broccoli, lettuce, and herbs (and many more), and this 5-1-5 product is no exception ... it does not have anything specific in it that is just for watermelons. However... When looking up online to see what is optimal for watermelons I see that it is 5-10-10 or a 5-20-20 when it is in the vining or flowering stage and a 5-10-20 when it is in the fruiting stage. It is important to note that using a 5-1-5 won't HURT a melon, and may do some good... but it won't be an optimal benefit. So if you made the same mistake I made, all is not lost, you can use this for other veggies, but I'd say melons are not what this product is best for. ... show more

    • Doing a great job with my melons
I planted watermelon and cantaloupe seeds this year -- starting them under grow lights my dining room. I use this fertilizer on the babies just before putting them outside in pots. I gave them another shot a week later and we've had nice warm weather lately. Lots of sun. My babies are now "teenagers." This stuff gave them a huge growth spurt. Can't wait to see how it does when the blossoms show up. I'll return to this review with periodic reports on how the melons are progressing throughout the season.     • Melon Food good for Squash, Pumpkin, Cukes Etc
This is really an all-purpose garden food that can be used for many vegetables, not just melons. So far I have fed my sprouts with a light dose and they are zooming up. The small bottle actually dilutes a long way and should last for a month or two. that is a pretty good value for the price.

Upon switching to the melon fertilizer, I observed noticeable improvements in the growth and health of my melon plants.
