  • Better than my original 2004 Charge XTi!!
I bought my original Leatherman Charge XTi with no scissors and no replaceable wire cutters in 2004 for $98 from a vendor that had pre-ordered 2 at Blade Show and carried it for 20yrs modding it with a Rebar plier head and and upgraded main knife blade. I have been loaning it out to my wife and kids regularly ever since I returned from overseas and finally it seems to be lost so I ordered this 2024 Charge TTI and WOW! it came with the pocket clip, lanyard ring, bits and a tough nylon sheath and the fit and finish is was slicker than my ancient 2004 version. It's almost like it was custom made for me from the factory! S30V blade, sharp scissors, replaceable wire cutters, smoother more natural feeling handle scales. It may cost 2x as much as my old one did 20yrs ago but worth every penny for a tool that will probably last me the rest of my life! ... show more

  • Excellent Tool, Excellent Company
I don't usually write product reviews, but this tool and the company behind it are absolutely awesome. I just received my Charge back from their warranty service which was performed quickly and efficiently despite everything going on right now. The micro screwdriver bit had broken off and a stub was left in the tool that couldn't be removed. Also, the pliers had always been stiff. Now the tool is very smooth and a new bit was included. It is great to see a company that stands by their products this way. For the multitool itself, I have few complaints. It has a very similar tool set to the Wave, but it has better knife steel and titanium side scales that look great. The knife holds an edge for a ridiculously long time, and that feature alone is worth the premium to me over the Wave. I probably use the knife, pliers, bit driver, file, and scissors the most often, and they come in handy far more often than one would think. I'm an engineering student in college, and this tool is just so convenient for bending component leads, stripping/cutting wires, adjusting screws... It works as well or better than the dedicated tools in the lab and its always with me. The only problems with the tool are that the micro driver bits are easy to break, and it is a bit tricky to clean, meaning your pliers might get stiff. In my case they were never quite smooth from the factory, but Leatherman fixed it. The included sheath has storage spots for both the bit kit and the bit driver extension, both of which I highly recommend. If you are already considering spending the money on this thing, you might as well go whole hog and trick it out. It'll last a long time and Leatherman will fix it even if it doesn't. ... show more

  • Have Had Wave 4 years and now upgrading to Charge TTI
My Leatherman Wave is 4 years old and barely shows any wear, even though I use it weekly sometimes many times a week. So this was just splurging on myself kind of purchase I wanted something real quality and durable!!! My new TTI is a tad thicker than the wave but not as bulky as I imagine the surge would have been! After reading the different reviews the surge is definitely bulkier and I didn't want that kind of bulk. It all comes down to how you going to use the tool!!! Didn't you charge TTI sticks out on my side, a little bit more than the Wave did but seems okay. Considering the capability of having all these bits with me and the extender it's a very small price to pay that's for sure! Leatherman has impeccable quality and durability ... Made like a tank!!.. so I'm not going to go off on that in this review!! I was worried about the nylon belt carrying pouch, but pleasantly surprised and heavier duty than I was thinking it would be!! The nylon pouch is actually pretty nice! so I'm not playing on buying a leather one for it: which would be really expensive considering you need that ability to have the bit sleeve. The snap on the nylon pouch is just as good as my leather pouch snap that I have on my Wave: (I have included My Wave leather pouch in my picture so you can see the difference in size). The TTI came with a half-filled not-so-great assortment of tips. The pocket clip came separately in the box, along with the lanyard clip separately in the box. I don't plan on using the pocketclip or the lanyard clip Right now. I bought the seperate bit kit with the extender (sold separately) which I'm showing in the picture. So I have three bit sleeves now but only using one in the nylon pouch (I can't imagine fitting everything in there with two bit sleeves: can't see that happening even though I've seen someone do it on YouTube). I will switch out the bits that I need and incorporate them into the one sleeve that I'll be using. The nylon pouch has a spot for the bit extender on the right side which is a smaller heavy duty elastic band. On the left side the heavy-duty elastic band is slightly bigger which would hold a very thin flashlight. I'm not doing the flashlight right now because I have a flashlight on my phone and I always have my phone with me. Maybe if I was using my flashlight all the time I might think differently (again it's how you going to be using it). The included nylon pouch has a separate pocket behind where the TTI will sit, this is where I will keep one bit kit sleeve (not two). I have arranged the one bit sleeve to contain: all the Philips tips and all the flathead tips (except one). Took out all the torxs and the millimeter hex as well as took out the ponzi bit. I think I included one square bit. So I included all the standard size hex (Alen) tips. I have included a picture of the one sleeve setup. The TTI only seems slightly heavier than my Wave which is nice!!! NetRush supplied my new Leatherman TTI, and I must say that I was a little worried, based on the picture that was in another review, however everything is brand spanking new: pristine!!!! My Wave had this little idiosyncrasy that after using the pliers and closing the whole Wave up, The knife and the serrated knife would catch slightly until you opened the tool up a-hair and then closed it back a-hair. this was in no way a big deal (a half a second fix) just something I had noticed with the Wave, and was wondering if the TTI was going to be like that too ... Well it's not! They must have made it better somehow and the Charge TTI works perfect!!! I watched a lot of YouTube videos on this Tti, The Surge and a few others... I feel I made the right choice!! Based on how my Wave held up, as long as I don't lose this TTI , I should have it for the rest of my life : no doubt!!! ... show more

  • Got this to replace my Leatherman wave and never looked back.
Got this to replace my Leatherman wave+ after I misplaced it. It now lives on my hip using the sheath that came with it, along with the extra bits, a ratchet extension, and a bullet space pen. Now I'm the first to admit that it isn't going to replace a real tool kit. But when you just need one thing, for a quick job, this will more likely than not meet your needs. The three things I use most are the knives, and screwdriver. The knives have a decent edge on them, and are easy to get in & out. The blade locks keep the blade in place and are easy to release. The screwdriver works well 90% of the time. But it can be difficult to use in a confined space, which is why I added the extension. The pliers & wire cutters have also proven to be useful for quick jobs. If you opt to use the belt clip or lanyard loop instead of the sheath, they both connect securely, and hold the tool even when stressed. ... show more

  • Very handy
Like any Leatherman, the quality is evident. I love being able to have this much utility in such a small package. Yes, I have others tools that can do exactly the same thing. But they do me no good when I’m not near them. This is a ton of portable utility.

  • Very well built!!
I love it. Only thing I would change is ditch the serrated blade and gut hook that’s (pretty useless) and add a second knife blade instead. Still a 5 star product though!!
