UPDATE: The surface of this desk pad is a very nice-looking and feeling fake-leather. Fine... except that that texture also makes it very easy for things to stick and they are not easy to get off. I have been used to a smoother formica-style desk surface and am used to being able to clean it off without effort as it was completely smooth and tough. This surface doesn't work that way, and it's pretty easy to damage the surface if you try to hard. Even using a fingernail to try to loosen something can mar the surface. As indicated below, I think this is a good product. However, I selected the 'pale grey' (which almost perfectly matches my desk surface) and I'm going to order a 'dark blue' one because I think the dark color will hide things like minor discolorations as I won't try so hard to keep it looking perfect as I think less will show on the dark color. Of course, if you never eat or drink or let a ball-point pen point touch the pad, you'll be fine. I did that with a pen, just a tiny little dot, but on the pale grey it stood out. For roughly $12/13 this is a very nice product. I got the light gray color as I wanted something that would 'disappear' and my desktop is almost excactly that color. Mine, and I assume all, has a textured finish. It looks and feels nice, though if you spill anything it will be a bit more tedious to clean. I like the fact that it has just a little bit of thickness, but not much, as I got it so that I could rest my hands on the desk while using a mouse but I didn't want anything (like a padded mouse wrist rest) that would elevate my hands more. This provides just the amount of softness that I needed. One thing to be ready to do: It arrives rolled up (and nicely boxed) and when you unroll it the end that was on the outside will relax pretty much on its own, as will the rest of it. However, the end that was the inside part of the rolled-up pad gets a little bit... kinked, maybe, and I found that putting things like heavy books completely covering that end and the few inches, and leaving them overnight helped flatten it out nicely. I mention this because my first thought was that maybe it wouldn't flatten out but I figured with over 50,000 good reviews it probably just needed some help and it would be fine, and it has been. ... show more

This leather-like pastic isn't very thick, but it does what I wanted it to do. It keeps my keyboard from sliding around and adds a pop of color. I could have gone a bit longer. I've had it on my desk for a while now and have had no issues with peeling or curling. It seems to be well made. It also works well as a mouse pad. I've had no issues with the mouse skipping or not working. I work from home doing IT work so I'm at my desk all day every day. The bright pop of yellow is a good mood booster! It's a very bright yellow. If you're looking for a thicker, cushioned mat, this isn't it. But for a little pop of color and a desk protector, it works great. ... show more

It's pretty rare that I buy something despite a chunky dose of skepticism, but this was that purchase. I figured it was inexpensive enough that in the likely event of dissatisfaction, I could just eat the cost and use it for something else, or if I was spicy peeved at the quality I could just return it. But boy was I wrong. This thing unrolled flat within a day, no smell, huge amount of space, makes my shitty desk look and feel fancy, and is adequately resistant to wear and marking. I've bought this - more than once! It's large, and the color selection is vibrant and varied. My co-workers even loved them enough to purchase one for their desks too! I bought yellow the first time - it went with my company colors - and when I moved companies I got a new one in green. So can't tell you how long they last, but I used the first one over a year, and am going on 7 months with this one. I imagine you'd want to get a different color before they'd wear out. This pad is only good for a nice clean aesthetic look and nothing more. There is no ergonomic support nor is there any padding for wrists. I didn't purchase this for any of those, I purely purchased for a nice look and it does just that. I like the dark blue look. The only con I have found with this is that it does like to slide. Some ani slip on the back would be a nice touch. Other than that, it does as its intended use. Note: After pulling out of the box (it is rolled), it will flatten out, mine did within a couple days so don't fret if it tries to curl some. ... show more

Mat color: cognac/brown I’ve had this mat under my laptop for at least a year now. It lays well and I like the look of it a lot. I notice that it now bleeds color onto almost anything (plastic) I set on it, my phone case, ac remote, bottom of water bottle. It’s never on my skin or clothes that I notice, which is good. But overall thinking of getting rid of it now because of the color bleed. This pains me, I hate unnecessary waste.. So I guess I’m keeping it. ... show more

I don't really write much reviews, but after using this product for a few months, I will admit that I am surprised. I was thinking that this would probably last only a few weeks (we know how some products are), but no, this thing still looks like brand new. I have it on my desk under my laptop and we spilled water, coffee, the kids spilled whatever they have when they come to my office. And yet, it looks like brand new. I was also afraid that the sides would start to roll up like paper, but again, this thing is 100% flat. Not a single dent, no curl, nothing. Not sure what is the composition of this but they hit a homerun when they made it. The only thing is that if you need to sign a sheet of paper, you need to put another sheet under. The mat is just the good softness to work, but if you sign, you could go through the paper, so I just put an extra sheet under and it does the trick. Apart from that I would give it 6 stars if I could, which is probably a very rare thing I would say about my purchased in general. ... show more
