The media could not be loaded. My 18-month-old granddaughter likes this cute toy. At first, she had a little trouble fitting the pegs into the holes because one end is for holding. She figured it out pretty quickly with a little guidance. This is a good toy for color recognition and counting. The blue piece can be pulled off to store the pegs inside. Snaps back on easily. Update: after I wrote this review, my LO started to have lots of interested in playing with the toy. Everything I said before still holds true. Additionally I would like to add the numbers that are raised on top of each hole for the quill placements would be even better if they were a different color than the light blue of the backing cover. It would allow for something the babies can also focus on when playing / learning. Right now, it blends in too much to really be able to use as a teaching point. At first glance, the toy is bigger than I expected which is a good thing. The quills are made of a semi soft plastic and is hallow inside. The grooves of the quills are nice since it allows the LO to grab and pull them from the hedgehog. The hedgehog itself is a harder plastic which could give itself more durability but only time will tell that. The weight of it is very light, a little lighter than I think it should be since the entire toy lifts up when a quill is being removed from a hole aince they are slightly fitted. I feel there should be a little more weight to keep the toy down while the child plays with it and it should also have some type of 'grippies' on the bottom so that it doesn't slide around. Overall, its a decent toy. My LO has little interest in it right now, but I think it is a good toy. So far, all mine prefers to use this for is pulling out the quills and holding them in his hands. It does promote hand eye coordination for kids that find it interesting. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It is such a cute little toy! I love that there’s not a bunch of different lights and sounds. It’s very simple to use. I bought it for my one-year-old’s birthday. First, I sat down to play with it with him, and now he will grab it on his own and play with it. As you see in the video, he had just woken up and I was still breast pumping. Right now he likes to pull the pieces out, throw them, pick them up, and put them back in. But we can work on both colors and numbers when he gets a bit older, great little toy and great price.

Great toy for my 15 month old. She has only had a for a few days and plays with it multiple times. Loves chewing on the pieces but they seem sturdy enough. No teeth marks yet. I think it’s worth it.
