  • This book gives me a lot of Xcode!!
Last year, I participated in an iPhone project. Even though I have lots of software developing experiences, that was not so easy for me. Because I didn't know much about Xcode Tools. While I'm reading this book, I am surprised that Xcode has so many features that I didn't know. This book is pretty easy to read and understand and useful to me. :D ... show more

  • Helpful for getting use to Xcode
I got this book to help understand the way Xcode works and how to develop Mac applications from it. I have figured out the basics of Xcode, but there are a few things that puzzled me, so I went looking for a referenced. After looking through different books, I found this to be a great choice. It is a little bit outdated (I am using Xcode 4.2.1), but the general concepts it it are very helpful, and it has a very good coverage of the different menus, and how the drag and drop interface works and what you need to drag and drop to get things done and link methods to events. My only flaw with this book is that it is very heavy in iOS. If you are looking to do iOS, then this is for you, but I was looking for Mac development and this book offers some, but not much compared to the amount of iOS. If it was a bit more balanced across Mac and iOS it would be perfect. In the end this is a great reference for learning Xcode, if you are looking into iOS programming then this will be great for you, but if you are looking for Mac programming, you may have to get help from other books. However, as far as learning Xcode it is very helpful and useful on your desk for when you get stuck trying to link a GUI element to a Method. ... show more
